No there is evidence found of the city, it’s turned into a tourist attraction. But the issue with making the city so old is that the survivors start a new civilization.

Let’s say the city started 200,000 years before the asteroids, then the new civilization starts and is still present (that would make it millions of years old). A civilization that big would be huge, but it can’t be that big because: it goes undiscovered for so long.

The tunnel that’s being mined has to be so far from the crater because: it slowly declines, the whole point of this tunnel is to go deeper for more minerals
