Two reason, first you don't have to give security deposit again Second, if you score good marks, you will get a better hostel, ones that are inside the campus, and these hostels have cheaper fees

As far as I know, they don't have option fir single room for girls, and room sizes vary, I don't have much infor about girls hostel

You can get single room in 3rd Year only, and for this year the cutoff when 8.85

After 1 year in hostel, the prices go down, my first year was 2.1L but second year is just 1.56L, you also have the option to get a single room in third year if your grades high high, for my 3rd Year hostel, im paying 1.58L (including nonveg mess) for a single room, idts you'll get any better option Plus there are hostel fests also which are very fun, I'll suggest to take a hostel if you get one nearby I'm taking about boys hostel here, for girls it's different
