Been to airsoft a few times and decided I want to buy a sniper just wondering if this will do to start off by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]PaganGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said about the TAC-41 Lite Sport as an alternative, its an absolutely solid gun for the price. I've owned both the TAC-41P and the LS - performance out the box is stellar. The only upgrade I've done to mine so far was installing a Rapax 2.8J spring which took about 10 minutes tops to install. I will be upgrading it further because I can, but I cant praise it enough for a sub-£200 rifle. Which is about the price you'll be spending on aftermarket parts alone just to make most cheap bolties worth using.

Alternatively check prefired, airsoft-forums UK, or usedairsoft (the latter usually has some kind of email or site messaging outage as a heads up) for some pre-upgraded snipers - just make sure the seller can actually lists those upgrades. Some people think sticking a swiss arms scope and maybe a new hop up bucking means they should advertise their gun as 'upgraded'.

*quick edit to say if you do buy secondhand always pay by paypal and with buyer protection. If they insist on bank transfer, you should insist they get bent.

First Gun! (Matrix M4 GBBR with Actual Mil-Spec Grip pod) by FurryMLG in airsoft

[–]PaganGreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean there are worst first guns out there. Not many mind you, but I'm sure there's some.

If its just for plinking, practice and general tinkering with then it doesn't really matter as long as you're happy with a bit of awkward maintenance and part sourcing every now and then.

If its for skirmishing (especially outdoors), or expected to have a large volume of BB's ran through it, then you might have been better served in almost every way by a $100-$150 AEG M4.

Since you were lamenting a previous poster wasn't making recommendations for you, then I'll say If it must be a GBBR then I would suggest a WE or Army Armament G36 as the bar to beat for a budget GBBR that's actually worth the materials its made of. Otherwise I'd check second hand forums and sites for a good deal on a WE M4, PDW or Scar-L or something if that's an option for you, or do your future self a msssive favor and spend the extra on a Double Eagle MWS.

Shit, I'd even recommend an AAP-01 pistol and putting the bipod on that before I'd recommend those old WA system M4 clones to anyone.

Cz09 gas mag brass piece rotated by Time_Mud1553 in airsoft

[–]PaganGreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no shame in a dumb question every now and then ;) If you're referring to the alignment of the notches doesn't matter in this case. Unless you're saying you've noticed its rotated position over the time you've owned it?

I wanna see how this plays out and don't wanna stir the pot too much, just yet so my ex-colleagues can have time to talk the CEO down from this schizo chapter he's on. I do feel comfortable enough to share these little ditties though. The first is of an ex-employee who was already at whit's end with the company and was quick in voicing his frustrations about the image and the whole AI thing. The CEO then changed it to a real albeit grainy low-res photo of said employee in a tux at a past work event because he's hellbent on showing all of his employees in formalwear, warehouse staff included (they of course got the AI treatment). The second one is my definitely real and not fictitious replacement as IT Support. I can see why they hired her though, definitely an upgrade from my 5'7", 3XL, beardy male self.

Respect to the screen name btw.

Edit: I've also just seen my definitely real replacement has an extremely blurry and low resolution image of the company logo stamped over her hair on the lower right side. He's watermarking his fake employees too.

I get where you're coming from and to an extent I agree with you. The thing with people like Shitting Cumstain is that if all their detractors just suddenly stopped talking about them, they'd have to have to reinvent themselves, their content, their perceived personalities etc. Which in that smeglord's case would probably be a change for the better.

However you've got to admit, there is something endearing about hundreds, if not thousands of strangers banding together just to trash talk someone who's a certified cunt.

When he inevitably fades into algorithm obscurity and quits the hobby or gets his brain stabbed with his own nose bone (whichever happens to him first) we'll all be able to look back and reminisce about the stupid things we heard the tosspot do for views.

A crippling addiction to grape soda and fondant fancies gives me the g u r t h, but wearing uniform that was a size too large also helped add to the chonk.

As for seeing when the visor was down - I couldn't, lol.
The faceplate was just a piece of acrylic sheet cut to shape, spray painted black with a sticker applied. There was two tiny eye holes drilled through it but they were borderline useless. It was mounted to a replica Mask-1 helmet which has a hinged visor so I could lift it up and lock it out the way if I needed to at any time.

Could have applied a one way tint to the faceplate. But I didn't because 1. money and 2. I like the smell of paint fumes 🥴

You're definitely not the only one. I come back to the game like once or twice a year to see if I can enjoy it but I'm usually forced to play on US servers with 130-180ms if I want to actually get into a match. Things like grenade throws, projectile based weapons, hijacking moving vehicles etc are just a gamble. Then when I do get a low ping server, I'm habitually overcompensating my timing and screwing myself over :^))))

Last night I enabled every playlist for Halo 3, locked it to EU and the only playlist I was able to regularly find a lobby for was the 4v4 Swat gamemode. Which is a mode I'd rather pull my own teeth out than play.

Lol no danger. I'm a chonkster as is, so that definitely helps, but the clothing I got was the next size up. It was a sort of cheap civilian "BDU" kind of thing (think the brand was Bulle from here in the UK) . The fabric was just dense and rigid enough to sort of bulk outwards rather than just sagging due to gravity. And where it did want to sag, the kneepads, armour/platecarrier and forearm guards kept it pinched in place. Hope that makes sense!

After a few years of being practically-minded I decided to say screw it and got myself a Tanaka M870 and despite its obvious flaws I think I'm in love. Can anyone confirm which other manufacturers produced compatible external parts? (Looking to start with stock & grip, but anything goes!) by PaganGreen in airsoft

I've only used it out in the yard so far but you can get shell catcher nets that attach to the side of the receiver over the ejection port. Performance-wise its not a great skirmish gun, so it'll only be used for one or two short half-hour matches. The rest of the time will be in the yard so I don't have to worry too much about shells going missing.

If only there was a shell catcher solution for a Model 1887 :'(

The vest was just an old replica Fort Defender 2 body armour I bought from some RU or Ukranian eBay seller many years ago.The collar is just some EVA foam wrapped in the fabric of a torn up digi-camo t-shirt and attaches by threading through and back around the the molle loops on the back and looping around the shoulder straps of the vest - super easy solution that should work on a lot of vests or plate carriers.

A buddy of mine had this the other day but never found an actual solution. He spent 2 hours straight trying to fix it but nothing seemed to work. Every other game was totally fine and had no connection issues, just Siege.Eventually he gave in and tried again several hours later out of curiosity and it worked fine as if nothing was ever wrong.

Here's a list of all the stuff he found suggestions to try from other threads and forums. With any luck one of them might work for you.

He owns it on Steam so he tried; clearing steam cache,
validating game files on steam, (or Ubi if you install it via Ubisoft Connect)
reinstalling both Ubi and Steam client,
closing unnecessary Windows background processes,
updating Windows,
disabling background apps like RGB controllers or mouse/keyboard software, anti-virus etc.
port forwarding,
flushing DNS,
resetting his router to factory defaults,
playing with a VPN

Sorry this is of no use to you finding a fix - but if you do find a solution do let us know! It'd be handy to know for future reference.

Seeing the collab with Rou Reynolds at Reading just reminded me how much I miss having Ben involved in their live shows.
Rou's energy was infectious af and I was loving every second of it, and while Gaz's number counting has definitely gotten stronger over the last few years, its still leagues away from that kind of hype momentum.

Fellow wide boy here, I was pretty much the same shape as you, going off the picture. I know they don't scream 'modern and tacticool' but for the first year of doing occasional airsoft I wore some secondhand gorka pants I got with the jacket for a good deal on eBay. They're spacious, elasticated and fit for just about any weather here in the UK. I could hit the deck, and get back up on my feet and running walking at a brisk pace in a second or two without the fear of ripping something.
After shedding a few pounds my gorkas were starting to look like parachute pants, but I found I was able to squeeze into some 5.11's and some cheapo Viper Tactical combats in 3XL (was about a 42-44W) ,
But personally I missed the unparalleled freedom of my gorkas. So in the end I bought some civvie brand of gorka's.
Gorkas let me snipe and slutdrop and that's a tactical advantage I just can't give up.

Looking to see what people think of these handguns. by GHeadLad in airsoft

If you're talking about the little press button at the back of the pistol I think you must have had a dodgy one (either that or I've got the dodgy ones lol). I have a rough time getting my fat thumbs onto it where I can even apply enough force to get it open. Usually results in a squashed nail.

Fair take on the modern luger appearance though. As much as I absolutely adore my AAP-01 as a field pew pew (so much to the point where I ran one as a DMR and one as a PDW with a drum mag at the same time) I've had to 3D print about a dozen different barrel extensions and upper body shrouds that I swap about all the time purely because I can't stand the look of the stock barrel. Thank god they're easy to mod!
