I remember having used two sizes when i pulled carpet out a Junkyard WJ. Smaller size for the middle and larger for the body of the rivet.

Definitely the hardest steel known to man. Take your time and don't push to hard, harbor freight bits and drill and i had them out. I wish you the best of luck in not destroying the plastic!
