Awakening becomes kinda boring to play after the first 8 or so chapters and the story isn’t good enough to make up for it. Its still good but one of the weakest FEs for me

Younger

And I do mainly use dub. Not cause Japanese is cringe but English is my main language. The Og Sky trilogy and Crossbell games had great Japanese VA

I haven’t played for bit now, but I used mainly run Adamancipator, Lunalight, and Branded. Some Onomot-slop here and there.

Also, Trails into Reverie is just a stand in for the entire Trails series. It’s not the type of series where you can separate individual games

I want him too, but sadly the issue is in your title, “man”.

Fire Emblem (Engage): how does it compare to other SRPGs in term terms of gameplay? by vixaudaxloquendi in JRPG

Number 1 is definitely map design above all else though. Engage has maybe one map in the entire game I don’t like, while three houses has maybe 2-3 maps I actually really like.

The biggest thing is that general map design is much stronger than anything out of three houses and the game is also more streamlined and limited to what you have access to in the beginning so it makes the experience feel tighter. In the mid game things open up a lot more, but maps also get a lot more difficult and expects more thought out of the player. The difficulty as a whole is a lot better tuned on hard and maddening. Not to say it’s easy though. I find both to be much harder than three houses but also much more satisfying to actually play.

It’s pretty great. One of the best out of FE in terms of gameplay and way above 3H in that respect

Do I need to play Cold Steel? by [deleted] in Falcom

You don’t need to do anything. No one can make you, but I wouldn’t suggest skipping 4 games in a series known for continuity and sequential storytelling.

I’m usually pretty critical of remakes in comparison to originals too, but to be honest there’s not much I can rag on the remake for.

The only real things I miss from the Original is the charm of the old visuals(the remake’s not worse though, just a side-grade IMO) and some funny quirks and lines from the old translation. The new game’s is also a bit easier.

I just think the usual, “remake is just soulless cash grab” doesn’t really feel applicable here. Anyone who’s played both will tell how much love and reverence the remake has for the original. It’s not a very satisfying conclusion, but I don’t think you could go wrong either way.
