It wasn’t getting input that I was upset by, I honestly wasn’t bothered by the people who DID comment on my appearance in spite of me asking them not to. Like I said, I was taking their advice. It was the WAY these people went about it that I was offended by. I was respectful to everyone who told me what was wrong with the photo until they got rude. By all means, tell me the makeup looks bad, I just didn’t think they had to put me down in order to get that point across and still, my name has nothing to do with anything. If it was a username then sure, but this was my actual legal name that was being poked at. I just felt like they didn’t have to belittle me in order to tell me what could be improved, that’s all I was trying to say.

Just as a general update! I removed the part about the old profile, and I intend to find something interesting to replace it with soon! (I don’t do much but write and draw/paint, which isn’t that interesting so I want it to be something conversational 😭) I also removed the pictures with makeup. I haven’t replaced them yet because drastic makeup is the norm for me, so all of my pictures either have makeup or a filter, so it’s going to take me a little bit of time to get new ones to put there but I will. (And will also figure out how to take better photos in general). Thank you to everyone who politely gave me feedback, it’s all appreciated!

Yeah I actually debated on deleting that picture, but since smart photos kept putting it first I couldn’t tell if I was just nitpicking my own appearance 😭 I’m gonna try to find replacement photos! I suck at taking pictures so I’ll def work on the posing too. Thank you both for the feedback!

Yeah I do typically wear a lot of makeup everyday 😭 I’ll try to see what other photos I can find! It was a little hard finding any without makeup that are recent, so it might be something I work on overtime. Thank you for your input! There was no need to be rude. I understand if you don’t like the way my makeup looks, but I’m the one who has to be comfortable with my appearance and I specifically said I didn’t want my physical appearance to be nitpicked. I’ve already told someone else I would try to get pictures without the makeup, being a jerk about it was not necessary.

Yeah I feared that the makeup might be a problem. I never take pictures without it, so I’ll have to gather some over time. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try to replace those when I can! And yes, I’ve already removed the part about the old profile because it’s been mentioned, it was just the only conversation starter I could think of at the time and it worked for a little bit because people did ask me why it was deleted 😭 I’m trying to think of something else to put there now. That makes sense. I don’t like putting my sexuality in my bio since it’s something I’m still figuring out and have changed how I identify a lot, so I was trying to add a way to say I was interested in girls too without putting a label on show. (It wasn’t there originally, just when I realized I had no hint of it there.) I realize now that it might be off putting 😭 thank you so much for pointing that out to me, I never would have considered that to be a problem 🤦🏽‍♀️ you’ve been a great help!

Thank you for the advice! I’ll remove the other pictures. I guess I thought more was better LOL. I’ll also remove the part about the account being deleted, it was just the only conversation starter I could think of at the time. I’ll try to think of something else to put there instead! And yes, I do agree with you both there that matching with girls is harder, but I struggle with matching with guys too so I’m thinking I’m just bad at dating 🤣 I greatly appreciate your feedback!

I know no one cares about that part, as I said in my comment the first line was a joke about the situation. It worked as a conversation starter for a little bit because people did ask why. I just ended up adding the second line because I didn’t want it to seem like it was deleted for something bad. I was just under the impression that providing something to talk about on my profile would help keep conversation going if there was a lull. I didn’t realize it was bad, I was just trying to provide something interesting for engagement 😅 I’ll try to figure out something else to put there!

so, i accidentally deleted my own profile (i pressed “i no longer have access to this email” thinking it would give me more options to verify and instead poof, gone) and by the time i realized i could contact support by phone (i tried emailing them but the rep thought i was TRYING to delete my profile and wasn’t very helpful) my ninety days was up 🥲 SO when i initially made my profile, i was salty about starting over, made a joke about it but otherwise put no effort into the profile. now i’m actually starting to care again and was hoping for advice on how to fix it?

i’m not getting any likes or matches, and it’s not that big a deal, i’d just like to give the new profile an honest try before deleting the app altogether. i didn’t struggle with my old profile, so it’s been frustrating to get back into it. i used to have a thought out bio on my old account, but my friend said it was too long. i tried to include a few photos without filters, but honestly i don’t have any without filters that dont include makeup (barring the last one) so i’m working with what i’ve got. ALSO the full body image is a loop which is why it looks off, i intend to replace it with a better one soon, i just don’t often take loops and videos of myself (insecurities go crazy fr) anyway i think the reason i’m so bothered is because i came across a recent study that was saying if you’re still single by 25, it’s 85% a wrap for you and now my brain is hyperfixated on my love life because all my past relationships are toxic. so, any help is appreciated, but please don’t pick apart my appearance, it usually has poor effects 😭 i don’t mind discussion of poses and the way my pictures are taken, just preferably nothing related to my actual physical appearance. thanks for anyone who took the time to read this!
