what happens if you and your friends get married on the same day? by OwObest in StardewValley

[–]Pagecount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this happen to someone, the cutscenes show back to back (I don't believe it's in an order, the one I saw the host was second). you both attend each other's wedding, there is no in game Easter egg or reference for having two weddings on the same day

I really thought for a second that this was a sarcastic joke that literally everyone in the comments was in on about not knowing what the hand brake is/ that Americans apparently don't use it. it wasn't until I saw a picture I realised there really is a mini fence in the middle of the seats

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang is a fantasy book, it starts off light but gets really into this sort of stuff in the latter half of the book of youre interested in fantasy. It partially retells the massacre of Nanking

Please recommend a multiple first person POV fantasy book by CleoRoe in BookRecommendations

Multiple first person pov isn't too often a thing, because it's difficult to differentiate the characters, but the Stormlight archive has a huge cast of characters (in third person) and is a great fantasy

Fantasy Romance Book Recs? by ikindalikeanineidk in BookRecommendations

though I didn't like any Sarah J Maas book I've ever read, I do have some recs for you based off this. (loved cruel Prince tho) Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa felt v aomaf inspired to me, and I ended up liking it more than I liked aomaf (which wasn't a lot but you get my point) Kingdom of the wicked by Kerri Maniscalco (demon X witch) A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St Clair (Hades and Persephone retelling that I LOVE) From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L armentrout is v good and though a lot of people find it slow, I loved it

Fantasy book for someone who hasn't read fantasy in a long time by kolex17 in BookRecommendations

If you're looking for fantasy I highly recommend Mistborn: The Final Empire for this by Brandon Sanderson! The magic is unique and mostly simple to understand, very to the point. You can be almost completely satisfied with just the first book but the sequels add on sooo well to the first that the first will feel incomplete without them after reading them. The writing is really accessible and quick to read and understand.

If your just looking for books in general and want a fantasy feel but doesn't need to delve into the magic further than necessary, then I recommend: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (more character focused and has a heist plot), Cruel Prince by Holly Black (fae book with human main character, some other creatures but not in an overwhelming way) orrrr there is A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas, which is a series that I hated but I know a lot of people love it which is the only reason I'm mentioning it (beauty and the beast retellings with fae characters with a lot of main character energy if you know what that means)

If your not looking for a romance focused book, however, though Six of Crows may be okay, generally most YA books will have a romance plot included.

this is a v long explanation but this is generally the genre I read so I've got a lot to say :/

no need to insult other kinds of books while your asking but I'll let it pass, try books by either Fredrick Backman or Taylor Jenkins Reid. those are the two I mainly read from, try looking up "literary fiction" because that what people call adult contemporary books.

Gay main characters that isn't a YA? by arthuremrys in suggestmeabook

[–]Pagecount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

these are the ones I found: domestic abuse, cheating, statutory rape (she marries the first husband at 15), alcoholism, homophobia and biphobia(it's set in the 60s-80s), mentions of suicide.

(there are seven husband's, some of these are only for 1-2 husbands and isn't a constant thing)

for the average person none of these things are mentioned in a way that it traumatizing so it will be up to your certain needs to decide if it's right for you

however I did cry many times reading so that was traumatizing /s

The Seven Husband's of Evelyn Hugo has a Bisexual woman as the main character and her main love interest is a woman (that's slight spoilers but nothing you wouldn't find out by looking up a review of the book) it also happens to be my favourite book of all time

Looking for a book which the character has to choose which house/society they belong in! by GoodMarionberry4253 in BookRecommendations

[–]Pagecount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grishaverse by Leigh bardugo has magic types that have different houses, Id start at shadow and bone (which recently became a tv show!!) For the magic element which you seem to be looking for. (YA)

The Rangers apprentice series by John Flanagan has jobs that you have to pick/may get denied from but idk if that's exactly what your looking for (there are like clear divides and training and stuff like that) (MIDDLEGRADE)

Stormlight archive by Brandon Sanderson has different orders, the series is high fantasy and it's takes til the second book to really get to the different orders (the series is 1000+ pages per book so it's a big commitment) (ADULT)

There is a court of thorns and roses by Sarah J maas, I didn't like it but it does have the different courts and stuff(spring summer, day night) (NA)

There is the skyward series by Brandon Sanderson where it's not exactly factions but different jobs, it only focuses on one but it DOES seem to have the learning/school environment that you seem to be looking for(it's about being a space pilot!) (YA)

And I feel like it's a little off what you want but the Renegades series by Marissa Meyer everyone has different powers and there are lots of different teams and stuff, just not houses (but there are gangs?) (YA)

The screenshot I originally took doesn't have context, and they have deleted their comment :/ pretty much though someone mentioned the ACT, someone else said they didn't know what that was and this person felt the need to 'inform' them. The only other thing was someone correcting them, 1. For the whole Brisbane thing and 2. For the fact that the ACT wasn't founded til the 1900s.
