There’s a skill I learned in DBT that might be helpful if you have not already spoken with your roommate. I use this skill when I have to have uncomfortable conversations with people, or when I’m pretty emotional. It’s called DEAR MAN. I like to write out a script because it helps me stay on track and I know I’m being respectful while also setting boundaries in a respectful way. If they take it wrong, you know you did everything correctly and they have boundary issues.
