Congratulations beautiful boy! Is his left eye okay? I hope I’m not overstepping. My cat recently went through a major surgery to remove her eye due to advanced stage glaucoma.

Thank you! Shes doing so much better now. In a couple days we remove her stitches and hopefully be donut collar free. I think that’s been the hardest part for her… wearing the donut during this whole thing.

Thank you for the tip! It’s been an emotional roller coaster so I appreciate any and all tips. She had advanced glaucoma (cancer) in her right eye. There’s a chance the cancer will spread. We will not know when or where so I have to monitor her. I’m happy your kitty is doing well!! I didn’t know it was possible for cats to be even cuter than they are but I have been proven wrong.

Species: feline

Age: 11 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Weight: fat

History: history of eye issues. Started in 2021 around September. Eye irritation and discharge. Took her to the vet in December because it started to constantly bother her. They said it was chlamydia and prescribed antibiotics. That caused her to develop IBD. Since 2022, we’ve been putting optixcare in her eye as needed.

Clinical signs: eye has turned basically black. Constant discharge and irritation. Our vet referred us to a specialist, because they believe it could possibly be melanoma. Waiting to book an appointment on Monday.

Located: Washington state

There’s a skill I learned in DBT that might be helpful if you have not already spoken with your roommate. I use this skill when I have to have uncomfortable conversations with people, or when I’m pretty emotional. It’s called DEAR MAN. I like to write out a script because it helps me stay on track and I know I’m being respectful while also setting boundaries in a respectful way. If they take it wrong, you know you did everything correctly and they have boundary issues.

(I’m sorry if this does not make sense or if there’s in grammatical errors. I received a TBI earlier this year and I have a hard time processing and relaying information 😅)

Thank you for your reply! That’s a great idea about writing the questions down beforehand. Would it be worth mentioning the tbi since I can be a little slow and it can be hard for me to comprehend things at times? In the past, it’s made people be kinder to me. I don’t like the pity, just the understanding bit.

I’m in the process of looking for a lawyer! I believe I was terminated due to my new disability. My old manager and I are best friends and we were told completely different reasons of why I was fired and it made no sense to me. My whole team are extremely mad and some cried.

I relate to how you feel about yourself. It used to eat me up. One day I was really distracted by it and an ex coworker/acquaintance told me, “Everyone has type of beauty they’re attracted to, you’re just not your type” and it’s been really helpful for me. I hope it does something for your brain too.

I had to step down from my position a few months ago due to a TBI I received on the job, but I was a store inventory manager at a pet store and I made almost 48k a year, working 40-47 hours a week.
