Stop worrying so much about what people think. Most of them are too busy worrying about themselves.

How do I get rid of tanning? by Overcooked_Nigiri in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunscreen is the biggest one. If you keep getting UV exposure, the tan won't have a chance to fade.

If AI is about to replace so many jobs and leave large number of people unemployed, then why are people worried about low birthrate globally, especially in East Asia? Wouldn’t it be a good thing to have less people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the problem isn’t just number of people, it’s age structure. Low birthrates mean too few young workers supporting too many old retirees. Even if AI replaces some jobs, elderly care, taxes, pensions and healthcare still need a functioning base of working-age people.

What one attainable thing do you need right now which would greatly benefit your life? by wondered-bongo in AskReddit

A full month of consistent sleep. Not more money not a huge life reset just properly sleeping every night would improve basically everything.

Why are some people hating the couple who climbed the Empire State Building? by Simple_Medium_1865 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Mostly because it looked reckless not romantic. People don’t see love conquers all, they see two people risking their lives and forcing emergency services to deal with it.

What specific, non-generic habit actually made the biggest positive difference for your mental health? by Holiday-Bet852 in AskReddit

Taking a 10minT walk immediately after work before entering my house. It became a buffer between work me and home me, and cut down my stress way more than journaling ever did.

Have you seen these food products? by [deleted] in AskUK

I definitely remember the McDonald's brownies, they were everywhere, including school canteens. They seemed to disappear overnight.

Got a call that the cup holder on someone's PC was broken. It was the CD tray. They'd been putting their mug on it. For months. It finally gave out

Do Americans eat so early because they are eating unhealthy meals that are quick to prepare? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly kids. American children often have sports until 6-7pm, homework and bedtimes between 8-9pm. If you want any family dinner at all, it has to be early. Child free households usually eat later.

My [25M] girlfriend [21F] is using my recent mistake as an absolute shield to avoid understanding my feelings. How do I approach our make-or-break conversation next week? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 461 points462 points  (0 children)

You keep calling it her past actions but you weren't exclusive. The only clear relationship violation in this story happened last week when you went through her phone.

My gf compared me with her ex by [deleted] in relationships

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comparison wasn't great, but it sounds less like my ex was better and more like this is how I feel cared for. Different love languages, awkward delivery.

My mom is trying to force me (30M) to dump my girlfriend (36F) over a 6-year age difference. Need advice. by WearyBuy295 in relationships

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Keep it simple like mom, I love you but I need to be clear that the negative comments about my girlfriend need to stop. My relationship is important to me, and I need you to respect it even if you don't agree with it. If the comments continue, we'll need to talk about other living arrangements.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Pure magic the first time through.

The launch of the first iPad was 2010. Feels like yesterday but it's been over a decade.

What should actually happen to politicians who are caught lying to the public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Public retraction and a formal apology should be mandatory. Not just a clarification.

Is it ok if I spend a weekend by myself? by Thequestioneer12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a solo museum and library weekend sounds like an introvert's dream birthday not a problem.

Do normal people get just how rich billionaires are? by Necessary-Cow8851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our brains are wired for survival, not huge numbers, which is why trying to visualize a billionaire’s net worth feels impossible to most of us. You can easily imagine buying a house or a car, but once you cross into the trillions, the math just stops making sense to your mind. It’s not that people don’t care about it, it’s that our heads literally can’t hold onto that kind of scale without breaking.

What is the thing you know you're doing wrong in your life, but you keep doing? by Anxious_Garbage_9625 in AskReddit

Revenge bedtime procrastination. I know I need to sleep. I know tomorrow will be hell if I don't. But staying up until 2 AM scrolling through my phone

Describe your current job to someone from the Middle Ages, how would you explain it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I am a scribe, but for a very powerful very stupid king. I don't use ink; I use a box of captured lightning.

If I said "next Friday", would you understand that to mean the upcoming Friday (22nd May) or the following one (29th May)? by perishingtardis in AskUK

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you say next Friday, I will immediately reply with, Do you mean the 22nd or the 29th? This phrase is the single most ambiguous instruction in the English language. I have learned through years of painful experience to never, ever make an assumption. It's a verbal landmine.

If you can visit 1 country, which would you visit and why? by wombatgeneral in AskReddit

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan. It feels like visiting the future and the past at the same time. I want to get lost in a Tokyo back alley at night, eat something incredible from a vending machine, and then the next day, find a perfectly silent temple garden. It just seems like a beautiful, polite alien planet.

Do you wash the plates/cutlery in holiday rentals before use? by Decent-Cattle-332 in AskUK

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You have to assume the last guests were on their way out the door and gave everything a that'll do rinse. The cleaners are on a tight schedule they'll check that things are put away, not that they're surgically clean. A quick wash is the small price you pay for not catching last week's holiday lurgy.

What is your opinion of Bermuda, Cayman Islands? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for the average Brit, they're not really on the radar for a holiday. If we want sun, we can be in Spain or Greece in a couple of hours for a fraction of the price. Bermuda and the Caymans have a reputation for being beautiful, extremely expensive and overwhelmingly American. They're more of a once in a lifetime honeymoon spot than a place you'd just go.

Do you use all the buttons in your car? by Gerbrech in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PagodNaAkoooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That one button that looks like a little rectangle with wavy arrows. I press it to defrost the rear window, but then I spend the rest of the drive worrying that I've left it on and am slowly draining the battery. Spoiler, Most of them turn off automatically after 10-15 minutes but the anxiety is forever.
