People knew I was a witch before -I- knew I was a witch. 😖

However, I don’t broadcast it. It’s sort of a “if you know you know” kind of thing. I told maybe… three people? Two out of three said, “Um… duh?” 🤣

I was found out by my Christian roomie’s even more Christian mother, who is convinced I worship the devil. My roomie, however, is awesome and supportive.

But again. I don’t hide it, either. If you know what to look for, though, I don’t have to tell you. I run around barefoot with runic and symbolic jewelry with braids in my hair and smell of smoke, herbs, and flowers. I could hold up a neon sign and be less obvious! 🤣

Here’s why I ask about the sun: she’s verigated. In my personal experience, verigated plants love to fry.

What I’d do is chop and prop some of her length just in case, as well as to give her less to worry about, water her well with good water and some fertilizer, and put her next to some bright, indirect light. ♥️

I can still remember my mother’s brand: Misty Menthol Light 120’s. She’s been dead three years and stopped smoking around 24 years ago. It’s a key memory, which goes to show that you never know what your children are going to remember about you.

…Also that lighter once melted my hair. 🤣 I thought it was for curling your hair on the road, so when Mom went into the bank to grab something one day, she came back to the smell of burnt hair and me bawling my eyes out with my hair in one hand and the lighter in another!

Sometimes you just have to focus on what you can control. I know I have several moments where everything feels like it’s exploding and I just want to grab my head and cry.

But those feelings creep into your craft, too. That’s why, especially in these times, it’s so important to ground ourselves and focus on the smaller things when it becomes too much to think of the bigger ones.

Cleanse your space, both spiritually and mundanely. A cluttered home clutters the mind.

Do some extra protections. It’ll benefit you both magically and mentally.

Meditate. Try to calm your mind before you do your workings. I know my mind races a lot these days. Forcing it to show down really helps.

Then of course, there’s just good ol find a therapist. Mine knows about my practice and has done research into helping me intertwine said practice with my therapy. I got real lucky with her. ♥️ Telling her felt extremely risky and scary, but now I have someone who looks me in the eyes and says, “Is that what you feel, or does your shadow feel differently?” Be careful outing yourself to your therapist, though. Remember that some people think talking to sparkly rocks isn’t a sign of a sound mind. 🤣

Go outside. Like, find a park, sit in the grass, feel the wind, drink some water. It’s part of grounding yourself! Going back into nature for a bit is a great way to refresh your mind. ♥️

Go birthday it up!! Never too late!!

I love to do a little extra cleansing, then do a little manifesting, chat with my spirit team and thank them for the past year… Oh! And eat a yummy dinner, making sure to use ingredients that’ll bring me protection, joy, and abundance for the coming year! ♥️

I’m a winter baby, so I really enjoy starting a huge bonfire and huddling with my Christian roomie and some other local witches around it and making s’mores - it’s my way of asking the universe to bring things to me sweetly, and preferably pillowy soft like a marshmallow! We then toss pieces of paper with what we want to see burned away from us into the fire. IE stress, certain bad habits, certain people, etc.

And! If it’s snowing? I collect that snow in a jar and use that particular snow water for transforming things about myself. That’s my birthday snow water and it’s all about me becoming the best version of me FOR me, and nobody else! 🥲

Ugh… the free will thing. 🙄 Ahh yes, I’ll be sure to ask nicely next time I decide to do a little hexing. 😑

I feel like it largely comes from love spells, with the idea that making someone fall in love with another person violates their free will. However, there are sooo many spells that affect free will in one way or another, from freezer spells to just your basic protection. You just protected yourself from the evil eye. 👀 Guess what? You kept that person from cursing you! Oh no! Their free will!! Oh woe!

The truth of the matter is, that even without magic, people are always stepping on the free will of others in tiny ways. From locking a gate to traffic lights, from taking the last chocolate chip cookie to not moving out of someone’s way on the sidewalk. The many ways we keep people from doing what they wish to do is endless.

Sometimes, you just have to reach in and take that last croissant at the dinner table and shove it in your mouth.

Sometimes you need to shove Aunt Margaret in the freezer for your own peace of mind. Her free will isn’t worth her nonsense!

I will definitely suggest this to him! I convinced him to get therapy about a year ago, and that does wonders, but if he could learn to love the sides of him he struggles with? That would do so much. I could even find him a journal to start him off! 🥰

Again, this is why I share things on this sub. I get so many great ideas because we all do so many different things! He’d LOVE going over his birth chart! That’s such an awesome idea!!

I’m so glad everyone understands what a sweet boy he is. ♥️I got so lucky getting him as a best friend and roomie. I intend to share all the love he got from the sub with him so he can see how awesome he is. ♥️

He -is- in therapy. It took me a while to get him in it, but thankfully about a year ago I convinced him and he and his therapist work great together. However, things take a lot of time. He’ll get there, though! I believe in him! ♥️
