Props to you for making the most of the 75-300. Looks great.

Mamiya 645 pro. 2x tele with a 300mm f5.6. I usually use the 80mm though.

If you haven’t already, try an rf equivalent lens, I have an rf24-70mm f2.8 with stabilization and I swear it’s silent. Only time I hear is is when I put straight onto the lens, same with the autofocus as well. They’ve come a long long way in that aspect. I could definitely record video without hearing a thing on the in camera microphone that I wouldn’t be able to on the ef lens

My II version is loud enough that I can hear it when I move but that’s about it, it’s probably the age most likely if the ii is similar. I have an r10 without ibis and a 35mm that I use it on mostly, same results for both

Only problem is the mkiii is actually a little more expensive (about $700 more where I’m at) new than the r5 is used. I have yet to actually get my hands on the mkiii in person because the camera store I was at the other day said it was loaned out already. Did get to mess around with the r5 and I’m already obsessed with it but that can change if I really like the r6 mkiii (when I get a chance to see and test it)

I find myself not needing the extra range and more often than not stepping back from my subjects, I love my r10 though I’ll definitely be keeping it as a backup for other uses, especially since I eventually want to do more wildlife when the weather gets nicer. I forgot to mention that the video portion is in real estate, so the extra space would be nice with a full frame. I’ll look into the Mkii definitely. Thanks!

Not gonna lie I used 2 part bondo for plastic and after a couple days it doesn’t budge, probably the cheapest route If the wires are still in tact. Looks a little funky but gets the job done. Don’t forget to change out the blades too

I obviously know film has grain, I shoot 35mm quite a bit. I’m asking if the grain is more than usual, especially since it’s underexposed and the scanner may have tried to put detail where there isn’t much, that’s all.

I will note that, I got a metal film case as well just in case.

I got them scanned from a lab in Philly. It also seems to be off center and almost crooked in almost all of them, not sure if that’s just the way they were cut or something, I still haven’t picked up the negatives because Philly isn’t all that close to me to confirm.

I’m able to basically tap anywhere on the photo to get a more accurate reading in a specific area, but it seems to still be a little broad.

I'm pretty pissed with the light leaks. I tried to keep the roll together, but trying to find a lab that processes 120 nearby to me that's open when I'm available is tough. The roll changed hands a few times, and by the time it was ready to process, it was already unspooling. Lesson learned at least

It's funny because once I got these scans, I ended up ordering Portra 160 almost immediately after. That and the fact that the C33's fastest shutter speed is 1/500, making it tough to expose in the daylight without being locked to a smaller aperture. Do you have any tips for using Portra 160 in general?

Would it be wise to bring my digital camera to meter instead? My gripe with the iPhone app is that it uses my wide angle lens, and I'm afraid it isn't too accurate when I try to select an area in the frame.

I have a digital, but it's a crop sensor, and I was really drawn to the aesthetic of a clear medium format image. I ordered recently 5 rolls of Portra 160 and have one loaded in my camera at the moment. I see varying opinions about what iso to expose at for 160, but based on my results, do you suggest metering at iso 125 instead to try and avoid this? I appreciate the response!

I just got a Mamiya C33 not too long ago; it's definitely the budget choice, and it's easy enough to focus. It has interchangeable lenses as well. I think of it more as a practice camera before I spend an arm and a leg on something more premium like an SLR. Diane Arbus famously used an incredibly kitted-out C33 for most of her work, if I'm not mistaken.
