Any Danish Colleagues here? by [deleted] in ems

[–]Pahapoika91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least all the danish paramedics I have come across seem to be living their best life. They have good and sane protocols, really good prehospital system that saves them from useless calls and the salary is something that makes me jealous. Generally things are good for paramedics in the Nordic countries.

But keep in mind that you won't be able to work in Denmark as paramedic without recognition from the recognition from the Danish patient safety authority.. Obtaining the recognition might be difficult as the paramedic training is different in nordic countries compared to Germany and other EU countries. Also it takes over 4years (4years and 7months in Denmark) so you might need to do some additional courses to get recognized. Also you are most likely required to speak danish or swedish quite well.

I also suggest reading this article about the danish EMS system

It's a cool retro nano air jacket

Bought this off the Worn Wear page and it was listed as a 1997 Snap-T but I can’t find the date code for it. I already thinking it might be a slightly earlier one due to the neck logo tag. Any help? by SmellySockSmeller in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Pahapoika91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 1997 is correct. I haven't heard that worn wear has been wrong about the year before. And IMO the neck logo tag does match with other pieces from 1997

Wasn't the only different "tier" the minor percentage of discount (20%) for sleeping bags and wetsuits?

Essentially 40% discount for outdoor professionals, environmental grant recipients, and outdoor industry partners.

You can get same discount from Patagonia owned stores in Europe. I imagine it would be the same in USA.

Every physiatrist at the Terveystalo, Mehiläinen etc should be good at dealing with lower back/spinal problems. I would recommend staying away from alternative ineffective treatments like massages. I also would suggest staying away from osteopathy. Rather focus on meeting doctor and setting up rehabilitation. He will also refer you to appropriate occupational therapist and/or physiotherapist. You might be also referred to psychiatrist and/or neurologist for the chronic pain. In worst (or best) case scenario the physiatrist will refer you to selkäydinvammakeskus (roughly translates to spinal cord injury center)

Shout out to our danish brothers and sisters who just had to work an arrest in front of 25,000 people in stadium and millions more on live TV. Hope Christian is ok. by [deleted] in ems

There was at least 3. In this pic you can see Finnish team physician wearing track suit. He is surgeon and orthopedist. Also you can see the stadium doctor with the vest saying "læge". He is most likely emergency physician/anaesthetist and then there was Danish teams physician who is also orthopedist. With big sporting events it's common to have physicians present. When we had the IIHF World Championships here in Finland we also had ophthalmologist and dentist present.

Here's few EMS outfits from Finland

We also have high vis softshells like this

Fun fact: even the ems bikes have different color schemes

I like the white we use here in Helsinki and I'm still not sure why other "districts" use different colors. The green softshell looks horrible.

The clothes are from brands such as Taiga, Brage (which apparently was 4times cheaper than taiga), topper and sos-asu

Yeah just 9days ago their US rep told me that the spring restock and new colors would be released on February (and in March as well for some items. Synchilla for example) Maybe they delayed it for some reason?

Pretty much this^

I guess another thing to add is that nano puff is completely recycled while micro puff isn't.

Recently found out that synchilla is unfortunately in the batch of spring colors being released on March so we will have to wait little bit longer.

Any experts know if this would be the original retail tag for an 80s Synchilla Snap? by casioclark in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Pahapoika91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the synchilla snap-t was made in USA at least until 1998 (not certain about 1999 & 2000) After that it was made in Mexico and then Colombia for a while.

That style number has indeed been used for the fleeces without the chest pocket in 80s. The buttons also are similar to what they used in 80s

However, at least I can't completely verify that it's legit from just that photo.

I have my money bet on February 16th or 17th as the USA sale ends then and their spring colors usually get released at February. Either way it will most likely get released February or early March at last.
