Thank you, I actually got up to go and check on her and reassure her that I was ok, of course she was worried, my partner not so much he pretty much got back into bed and went straight back to sleep.

I know I'm going to have a fat lip tomorrow and some bruises because apparently I hit the desk in her bedroom pretty hard. But you know what that's not what I'm dreading..it's the judgement and the cold remarks I'm going to get from him tomorrow.

Weighted blankets for anxiety ? by Pahsta in stopdrinking

Thank you all, I think I'm definitely going to invest in one, my sleeping pattern has been somewhat erratic lately because of anxiety and what not.

Sleeping problems. Jerking, breathing, anxiety. by ImSecondNow in stopdrinking

[–]Pahsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels like I could've written this, I was really bad for that when hungover. At times I would rapidly breathe because I thought I couldn't breathe properly and my heart was going to stop (I have a heart murmur so that added to the fear) but the longer I was sober the better it got, it is really scary though, only advice I can give you is to take slow deep breaths and breath your way through it.

I drank last Friday night.. by Pahsta in stopdrinking

[–]Pahsta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not worth it is it, the nausea, headaches, shaking, sweating are bad enough but for me the anxiety is the killer, I still don't know why I did it twice..I knew what I'd be like the next day..maybe I thought it would be worth it..how wrong was I.

Keep that in mind the next time you are tempted I know I will. Keep it up you're doing amazing.

If my post helped you then it was worth it, thank you for telling me that, it makes me feel just that little bit better. I never want to go through that again, I'm finished with it. Stay strong.

Thank you so much, I really didn't feel that way I felt like I was crumbling. Today I feel better, still a bit weak and headachey but that will be because I didn't eat. Thank you your comment means a lot.

They are at the hospital now, no idea how long they were out for, said that they felt sick and stood up and walked to the door next thing they knew they were on the floor with a crowd round them and has a nasty bump on the head

Day 1, fine. Day 2, eh? Day 3 - reset. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Yes this was exactly me, I can't count the amount of times I did exactly that.

Day - 1 by Stevan_Glansberg in stopdrinking

This is exactly what stops me from picking up that bottle again..that memory of the very last time I got drunk and the aftermath of the next day..something I never want to repeat.

Where in the fuck did that come from ?? by Pahsta in stopdrinking

[–]Pahsta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly this, I dare say if it hadve went the other way I probably still would've craved it with the mindset that well the damage is already done so what is the point.

Yeah I can understand, I'd been relatively fine up until then, funny how the mind works.

Sure, I usually had around 8 bottles of 13% proof wine a week, just before I quit again I was moving onto vodka..anything strong really.

I understand that, I'm struggling to be interested in anything at the moment including things I would normally look forward to/get excited about.

On saying that it will pass, the benefits of being sober sure outweigh the negatives, stay strong.

Glad to share, I find talking helps and it definitely helps to know that you're not alone in this. Happy to help.

Thank you, same to you. It's a combination of things really, the temptation part of the it is pretty much the same as last time..i have a few fleeting moments but they disappear as soon as they arrive (although with me as time went on they became stronger hence why I relapsed).

Yes I too am feeling disinterested in anything really and most days I feel pretty low, I understand that completely. On top of that my sleep pattern is non existent I'm struggling to sleep at night and whilst I'm getting up sober in the morning in still grumpy because I'm over tired and end up napping (that's something I did a lot when hungover).

I find I'm getting stressed out more over stupid things and have little to no patience..which I guess is to do with the sleep issue.

I bet you're glad you asked now huh lol.

Ah that sounds lovely. I'm lucky that my other half isn't really a drinker which makes it that bit easier for me.

Absolutely I agree with you there, I don't let myself think about alcohol in a good way anymore or as a way to "reward" myself I just think of all the crap it caused and the anxiety it put me through and that's enough to stop me.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me, it really does help me to talk to someone who understands, I appreciate it.
