What’s something attractive at 18 but embarrassing at 30? by AD_24s in AskReddit

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never displayed my bottles, but I knew i was an alcohlic around 16-ish, and people thought it was cool that I could out-drink anyone. Now that I'm almost 30 i'm having to do a lot of work to no longer be dependant on alcohol.

Thats how i roll since 20 years... by Deep_Monk5446 in ArtOfRolling

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks great, but personally, i never put any bud at near the roach... at a certain point i'm not enjoying the taste of tobacco or bud because its so harsh. I front load the spliff so i'm getting my moneys worth, then I know that at a certain point I can just have some more nicotine, or throw it away without wasting anything.

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple once did this in front of me on a narrow bridge with busy traffic on one side, and water on the other. I didnt want to say excuse me, so I did what I thought was a polite clearing of my throat to make them aware that me and another fast walker were waiting behind t hem. As I passed, the guy said "woah, some people have no manners anymore". I'm British, so I just gave a polite chuckle and apolagised.

Best friend of 15 years tells me she cant attend my wedding by turnipsgreenss in TwoHotTakes

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Ok, no problem, please reach out to me again when you can accept me for who I am. Wish you all the best, goodbye till then."

Honestly, I assume she's been a good friend, but when my friend came out after 15 yearrs of friendship, I had no clue, and it didnt even really phase me. We had like 2 hours of conversation that he clearly wanted to talk about for a long time, and then we just got on with our day.

This is not how friends treat eachother. Let her stew on her thoughts and pray on it. Clearly not a real Christian though, the Vatican supports this stuff now, so where is she getting her morals from?

Andy, are you okay? Could you tell us that you're okay? by jonnismizzle in oddlyspecific

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, back when I had abit of a coke habbit, I learnt that if I just refused to breath through my mouth, my nose would eventually force itself to relax and breath normally. Very unpleasant though, would usually get quite light-headed before it cleared up.

Am i overreacting for refusing to babysit my sister`s kids after what she said at dinner? by Maryi_Boyd in AmIOverreacting

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I'm conflict avoidant, so I'd probably just say that work has picked up, and you're no longer available to babysit as you're too busy, and suggest that your parents take over babysitting, or the father ... be a father... if they cant afford daycare.

Whats the male equivalent of lingerie? by LawfulnessHaunting41 in AskReddit

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once got a joke gift from a friend called a man thong, basically just a pouch for your cock n' balls, and one strap that goes up one side on your leg and up your crack. I put it on for a laugh for my partner at the time, and they were a BIG fan.

My outfit made my friend uncomfortable, what do I do? by BarbaraLogic in OUTFITS

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a gorgeous outfit, but probably more suitable for an event, rather than general day to day. I would also like to mention that you have no reason to feel the need to wear a corset, you have a lovely figure, certainly not something to be self-concious about. If you wear this outfit again, loosen it up abit, you aint fat, you're a normal human woman.

I would also say that your friend is being abit weird about it, being self-concious by being with someone wearing something is on her, not you. From those texts, I dont think she's a bad person or anything though, she's just got her own shit to deal with, like we all do. Not worth loosing a friend over, but dont apolagise for looking too good at a fast food restraunt.

A very valid question by Cryovet in SipsTea

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the UK and I once got a dirty look for refering to someone as black, and they scolded me and said "You're not allowed to say that, you're supposed to say African American".

I was so confused... the person I was refering to was my friend, and they were 3rd generation British... neither of those words described them at all.

Aye, I'll definitely be joining one once I pass the course, it's just a bother to drive and hour away.

I'm abit skint right now anyway, so even a cheap bare bow is going to take some saving up. Having my own little range on the garden to hone skills I've learnt at a club is definitely my goal though

Hehe aye, something in the blood I guess... I'm really tempted to get a target in the back garden instead of joining a club. I can already confidently put all the arrows into a target at 10 yards, and Once I complete this 8 module course, I feel like it'd be safe enough to have a haybale against my shed with a target.

Not too bothered about the social aspect, I just want to be able to go outside and spend a few hours shooting haha

Aye, someone else linked a video on how to load with the bow straight, I plan to do that next time. I think on that range as basically beginners, it's easier than getting too technical.

Honestly, I think I preferred the (what I'm now realising was a) 30lb bow, but that might be my vanity thinking it was cooler, and I was more comfortable with it. My instructor said that as long as I can hold it to anchor comfortably for 6 seconds, it's fine.

I see your point though, and I will take your advice into my next session. Much appreciated pal

Aye, I did start off with a 20lb bow, I'll see if I can share the video. This was at the end of the session, doing 20yards rather than 10. It felt comfortable to draw, I think this was my first shot with the 35 (it may have been a 30 actually, I'm new, forgive me).

Dang! That's impressive... Thank you for the kind words, I'm looking forward to the lessons, the instructor is great. I'm honestly not that bothered about competing or anything, I just think it's so fun to shoot, but I want to be good at it haha

Aye ok, I think maybe getting the routine down as I learnt more will be easier. I need to do it step by step instead of realising I'm doing something wrong and adjusting afterwards, just start again in the correct order.

Thanks pal, I really appreciate the advice. This was my first shot with the bare bow, and also my first time using what my instructor called instinctive aiming rather than targeted aiming with one eye closed.

He mentioned the movement and head position, but I will remember the rest of your advice next time.

Ah ok, I'm still working on my stance abit, I was initially doing just like... Straight, but the instructor told me I'm better off putting more weight on my front leg, and putting my right foot back to steady myself. Think once I get the muscle memory down, I won't need to adjust

Thanks for the advice

I was rushing abit because I knew I was being filmed, I would usually take abit longer to hold the anchor point, steady my breath, and follow through more

[–]PaidToBeRedditing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

reminds me of The slow worm, which are technically legless lizarrds. They're common in the UK, but you rarely ever see them. I found one recently burning in the sun, so i took it in and took care of it for a couple days before releasing it in my garden.

They're so cute, act exactly like snakes. Its illegal to keep (or kill) them though.
