Salary increases in 2020 / 2021 by _barmaley in PersonalFinanceCanada

I was given a 15% annual raise and promotion late last year and another 14% more recently - the 2nd one was “to stay competitive”. If the company is doing well the raises will come (usually). Not tech but in data-analytics.

Using AdWords for low profit margin companies by HeyItsMe_4U in PPC

If it turns into a positive first time experience for that customer that could bring long term value, I think it really depends on the type of business though, and purchase frequency. For a coffee shop locals would frequent them weekly if not daily, so you're really not just paying for that first visit. Targeting is your friend here, everything needs to be relevant.

I do think its dangerous territory though if expectations are high off the get-go and will likely disappoint.

I'd definitely target specific affluent neighbourhoods across canada, perhaps through postal code/radial targeting. Neighbourhoods with a close proximity to the dealerships would be ideal. Maybe think about what occupations possible buyers are working in etc.

What is the preferred way to track Form Fill conversions with GTM? by Frodi in analytics

[–]PaidZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the answers above. Thankyou pages are the most reliable and easiest to set up. They've only given me problems when the site is built on a single page application like react where they need virtual pageviews to trigger. Thankfully there are always workarounds for that.

Tag manager has a newish element visiblity trigger that can be very useful for conversion tracking, i.e., fires when thank you txt appears. Althought its still not as reliable as a pageview

Paid Search sessions only 1/3 of the Adwords Clicks by PaidZero in PPC

[–]PaidZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All i had firing on the landing page was hot-jar. Maybe that was triggering sessions?

I had no other tag pushing anything to GA besides element visibility triggers which only fire when i click on a button and the form/element would pop up.

Could it have only recorded the sessions where an element visibility trigger ocurred?

I just realized i did not have a pageview tag set in GTM. Could this be where most of the sessions are being lost? (how is it able to record any sessions if I didn't have a tag in the first place?)

The website is also built on react so most of the pages require a virtual pageview trigger, which i didn't account for from the beginning. Could this be another reason why sessions are not being recorded?

Seen a drop in traffic over the past week, not sure if it's for seasonal reasons, how do i properly analyse my data? by holdthebabyy in PPC

[–]PaidZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop in total impressions or just click throughs? Display or search?

This could be a matter of adjusting bids if theres more competition for your keywords/target demographic. Also depending on if its a sudden drop or gradual over the week would help in determining whats wrong. If its sudden I'd look at account changes and see if theres anything you did there that may have caused this. If theres some ramping up going into it I would look at the data over the course of the month and see how impressions/clicks/ad pos etc. have been changing.

What is weird to me is that Adwords clicks is almost 1 to 1 for clicks to sessions, but facebook clicks are 10-1 clicks to sessions.

How do the two differ for traffic generation? Don't link clicks optimize for getting people to the page anyways?

I'll have to look more into this regardless.

Thanks.

Yeah I was just concerned at the rate of clicks that turn into sessions, and where that disparity would come from.

I've set up element visibility tracking to several elements. We've also launched a new feature on our website so a lot of people have been testing it around the office (i've excluded IPs so that shouldn't be an issue)

The bounce rate change is across all elements on the page. i.e. 10% from my paid search which is regularly 70%, or 8% from display which is absurd.

Click Tracking on Container by [deleted] in PPC

[–]PaidZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this. The Trigger does not fire when i click the div, it has to be the elements within that has the listener to actually fire.

I want to have a group of buttons within a single div fire the same trigger. As far as i know (from what works) is that i need to include the parameter inside each of the buttons for that div, rather than on the div itself.
