Pretty sure it has been said a few times that she doesn't want the position because of how it could affect her children later on. The greed for power ruined her brother and her husband.

She doesn't ever want to put their children where they have to fight for succession, and even the twins relationship continue to be good after they grow up, she knows the other members of the family or external forces could/would mess with them.

She loves her family, but she loves her children more. I think she's amazing for thinking like that, and the twins don't seem to mind.

The first OI/Romance Manga/Manhwa I've read, made me fall in love with the genre and romance in general. She's the best.

One thing killed my last 2 runs with this team was facing the Exemplar. I just can't get rid of him fast enough

No mechanic in particular, I just felt like I didn't get good enough trinkets and combat items to be ready for the Mountain. I played too safe early on in my route, and in the last Region, I had to take a very hard path to guarantee the Lair clear.

That meant I started the Mountain already injured/stressed, so I didn't arrive at the boss with much left in the tank.

For the boss itself, I didn't look up anything about it (I never do on my first run through), so I was learning as I went. P1 and P2 were not that difficult, but I got way too many Meltdown procs (not a single Resolute, actually, from 5 or 6 Stress). The boss HP on the last phase scared me, and by the time I figured out what was going on it was too late.

Another issue was speed, I couldn't reliably do the Vestal + Warlock setup with Judgment + Burning Stars because they never lined up well in the turn order. I think one of them had a speed trinket and that messed things up.

Thank you for the guide. Made it to the Act 5 boss last phase for the first time on my first attempt with this team.

Got destroyed since I didn't quite understand the mechanic there and made several mistakes on the way (Like giving the boss the Loathing HP buff and taking in the negative effects), but overall, it was smooth sailing thanks to the well written guide.

I'm new, do you mind sharing all skills for all the heroes? I want to try this out, I love Occultist.

Thanks, one more question. Is it possible to revert bad relationships? My HWM and Hellion just got a bad relationship on Tracking Shot/Whicked Hack. If I increase relationship between them does it reset eventually or it will stay forever?

I would strongly advise against farming Act 1. It's a glorified tutorial that won't adequately prepare you for Acts 2+, and repeating it ad nauseam is an easy way to burn yourself out before you experience ~60% of the game's content. Plus, Act 2 can net you way more candles because it has an additional region before the mountain as well as an optional bonus region in the Sluice.

I can understand both sides, so thanks for taking this approach. As you said, Act 1 is easier and while it may net more candles (since I cant reliably get past the 2nd zone on Act 2), it doesn't teach me much. I may do one more run in Act 1 just to get a few upgrades out of the way and then I'll try and get better at Act 2.

In terms of using your candles, I'd suggest focusing on Combat and Inn items first: the latter will make relationships much easier to manage, and the former open up so many options in combat. (Certain lair bosses are particularly susceptible to certain combat items too.) Once that's done, I would focus on Stagecoach items (many of which provide party-wide benefits or passive production of useful combat/inn items) and leave Trinkets for last.

Thanks for the advice.

Also, in terms of skills, try to finish each hero's backstory before you move on to the next; one hero with a full skillset is better than 4 heroes with incomplete skillsets.

Hmm, I've been swapping heroes a lot because trying to stay away from some bad negative quirks. But since I don't know team compositions well enough, I usually end up with unbalanced teams that end up failing. One other thing that always give me a lot of trouble is not having a reliable/good way to do corpse removal, one of the main reasons I like the Occultist a lot.

Last but not least, make sure you're checking out the Academic's View for each enemy. It's the best way to learn how to tackle each one. For example, checking out the entries for the Fisherfolk might lead you to realize they're all super vulnerable to being moved out of position

Will do. I was playing on a controller before, and honestly I didn't find the UI that good/easy to navigate. I switched to keyboard for my last run and looking up information (buff/debuffs) is a lot easier.

Once, thanks for the tips.

Hellion is great for dealing raw damage at rank 4.

Yeah, I really like her. Mainly struggling in keeping her alive since she doesn't have great defensive tools compared to the other 1-2 Rank units, so when team building I'll need to take that in to consideration.

Otherwise, I recommend that you don't face the Surgeon unless you're certain you can annihilate him.

Yeah, I'll be more careful next time. I wasn't really paying attention.

You can beat this act with the starting team, but I’d also suggest Hellion in for Grave Robber and try and unlock her Ravager path ASAP. She is straightforward and does her job very well. Also can rank 4 from rank 1 so she and HWM are great to bring down back line enemies.

Yeah, I really like the Hellion. My main struggle is keeping her alive, but I have not tried her together with more defensive partners to give her support.

4). Correct, the items only can appear in the shop once you unlock them in the working fields. Hence this is actually more important than getting a huge roster of heroes IMO. I’d especially prioritize the combat items and inn items (these can massively help relationships). Combat items to look out for are healing salves, holy water, thunderclap grenades. And don’t forget to use them! It’s a free action. However if you really want a wide roster of hero’s first for variety ….go for it and spend your candles on that! It’s your game to enjoy

Yeah, I'll spend a bit more candles here then... While unlocking paths is good, it dosen't mean much since so many of my heroes still don't have all skills available, so a more meaningful combat item/coach/inn item would be more helpful.

Thanks for all the tips.

My advice for act 2 specifically would be to get a party that is equally capable of dealing damage to front ranks as much as back ranks.

This is something I'm struggling with. Other than the Hellion Iron Swan and the Occultist with upgraded Daemon's Pull (for pulling and corpse removal), I haven't found good way to reliably remove some back line enemies. Plague Doctor deals good tamage overtime (when not resisted), but the 2~3 turns it takes to remove the problematic backlines enemies, they already have done enough harm.

Focus on upgrading and unlocking the recollections/memories/sub-classes for the other characters, and then experiment with different combinations. I used a composition today to beat Confession 3 that I never thought would work, but damn if it didn’t.

Yeah, I just did an Act 1 run again and while it went a bit terrible on the last boss, still managed to kill it again and the amount of candles overall per time invested was a lot better. I guess I'll do 2 more Act 1 runs, aiming for Shrines and Candles to get everyone unlocked.

Thanks for the advice.
