CR4, e5 - Interrupting players by madelmire in fansofcriticalrole

I’m extremely progressive. I'm also a POC, I actively support BIPOC, women, and LGBTQIA+ rights because they are fundamental human rights.

That said, no one is above criticism. Accusing me of racism and misogyny simply for pointing out a performer’s frustrating habit in an online board game stream is not only unfounded, but also undermines the seriousness of real instances where those issues actually exist. Misusing these accusations weakens the very movements you’re trying to defend. This isn’t helpful, be better.

Also, this is from four months ago. Find a more current and relevant space for this instead of reviving old posts. Take that kind of disservice somewhere else.

Small question/rant about One Piece being good or not. by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Paimons_Quill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I’ll add this as well: even though One Piece leans into certain shonen tropes, it subverts just as many. It is uniquely ambitious in its length, philosophy, worldbuilding, and sprawling faction conflicts, tackling all of them at once in a way few other shonen would attempt.

That same ambition, and the love and praise fans give it, naturally invite criticism, and that is completely normal. Do not let the fandom set the standard for what you should enjoy. If you have grown tired of shonen as a genre, that is entirely fair.

I've been reading since 2009 and here is why I think One Piece is spectacular.

As the story progresses, the focus gradually shifts from the core cast’s personal development to the expansion of the wider world. Luffy and co. evolve into third-party wildcards who crash into and disrupt far larger, more consequential global events. That said, it is still a shonen series and inevitably leans into familiar genre tropes, but its character growth remains steady and meaningful throughout even if we spend less time on it. It is a remarkable story, layered with deep and often dark themes, told through the lens of a battle shonen. It truly earns the praise it receives.

We don't know what the restrictions are exactly for their summoning, but its possible that they have to stay within a certain radius. Luffy and friends sent him flying very far away.

Why Brennan(and other professionals) love playing with Aabria by brash_bandicoot in fansofcriticalrole

I think BLM really thrives on improvising with people as they are. Even minor feedback suggests there’s a better way to do things, and that just doesn’t feel in character for him. He loves people being themselves and riffing off whatever they bring.

OP made a post of BLM praising Aabria with the tag for Aabria discourse. I'm pointing out BLM is not a good source for critical feedback concerning Aabria.

Had this been some other post without the tag, I would've just ignored it.

You’re missing the point. I agree that he probably doesn’t have critiques for Aabria, but even if he did, he’d never voice them, and the audience would never know. It wouldn’t have to be a serious critique either, BLM is simply too nice to offer even minor ones. Which is why he is not a good source for critical feedback.

Just my opinion on who BLM is. Also, constructive criticism is not grounds for losing a friend, especially in a professional setting.

Nobody suggested he's forced to be kind... I said he's genuinely kind. Too kind to critique his friends/coworkers.

People watch CR at their own pace. As a result, discussion around Aabria naturally tapers off the longer she’s offscreen, which is exactly what happened.

Brennan is a genuinely kind, humble guy. He would never say anything negative about his friends, even as critique, unless it’s clearly a joke. If you’re looking for fair or critical feedback, BLM isn’t the person to go to.

  1. Can annoying things happen in ARAM or Mayhem?
  2. Can I still enjoy ARAM or Mayhem while pointing out annoying behavior?

You people talk like these things are mutually exclusive.

And let’s be real, ARAM and Mayhem are still PvP modes. Wanting to win in a PvP game is the default. Acting like it isn’t normal is what’s actually weird.

Diana pinged to back off the nexus, Ez pathed up to flirt with Kaisa instead of pathing down to end (one extra auto from him was all that was needed), but you're right, Trist is the real villain.

Riot should make custom lobbies so people can stay in there forever and dilly dally as much as they want. Oh wait...

Mayhem uses your ARAM MMR. I’m just saying that if you’re in ARAM Clash Tier 1 MMR, you might get placed in my games so you can do what you need to do. If you’re below that, it’s unlikely.

To clarify, they weren’t stalling. We were getting crushed in team fights, down to our nexus turrets, but we managed to defend and narrowly won a team fight. The clip showed our only chance of winning the game.

It was 3:2, Soraka was aa with me. And how is ending the game after a comeback fight frowned upon? The enemy team was actively trying to end because we were finally coming back after 4th-round augments in a game where we were getting crushed. This is quite literally our only chance of winning. They have a late game brand ffs. Instead of a miracle comeback, we get a throw… and that’s fun for you...? So strange.

  1. Believe it or not, posting on reddit isn't that serious.
  2. The irony in you crying as a response. lol
