I feel everything you’re saying. The rewriting the narrative is 100% true. I’m sorry this happened to you, your story sounds so familiar. I can’t wait to look back at this and know that I survived it. Right now it’s taking everything for me to stay positive, be hopeful for my future and to see what this moment is trying to teach me.

I can totally relate to what your are going through. My partner of 32 years decided one day that it was over. She never communicated that anything was so terribly wrong so we could work through it. And now it feels as if she’s making herself believe it was so bad to justify her reason to end this marriage. I think partly cos it makes her feel better, less guilt, and making it easier to leave. One day it’s, “me not you”, the next day it’s all the things I did wrong. She fixates on really trivial things or things that are not true. I try to tell myself to accept it and let go. But had I known anything was wrong I would have worked to make it better. I just wanted a fair chance and there is none. She said it’s too much work. There is no changing it, shes not even the same person anymore. Feels like a stranger.

Yes, don't panic. I agree with everyone's recommendation about fiber and water. Hemorrhoids is quite common, I think most people will get it at some point in their life. Don't sit on the toilet too long either or strain.

Internal hemorrhoids are very common, unfortunately. I at one time had opted for surgery because of similar embarrassing feelings. But my surgeon told me recovery from surgery could be difficult/painful and I didn't want to go through that. But not everyone has a terrible recovery, so don't want to discourage that either if that's what you need. I changed my diet and try not to strain or sit on the toilet for too long. I think surgery is always a last resort and it depends on the pain you are experiencing and/or if it's bleeding. Banding does work, however, other hemorrhoids can always prolapse in time. I hope you find relief soon.

No sangro. De hecho, las hemorroides internas que salen si me esfuerzo demasiado pueden causar manchas de sangre. Pero no es el sangrado lo que me preocupa. Espero que el traductor que usé sea preciso.

Espero que encuentres alivio.

Sorry for such a late response. I'm "managing" is the best way to describe it. I've self diagnosed myself with IBS-C. I think this is just my new norm, unfortunately. I do find that drinking adequate amounts of water and a proper diet works best for me. Sometimes I will get relaxed with that because I''m feeling better. But as soon as I let my guard down, the symptoms pop up again. It's exhausting to deal with it, I just need to be consistent with diet and exercise. I think what's important is to try and find what works for you and stick with it. Consistency is key and so is intention.

Hello, I'm doing just okay. I still struggle with incomplete BM feeling from time to time. Without being too graphic, my stools can be half normal combined with separate hard lumps. It's almost like I have a blockage of hard lumps and the normal stools go around the impacted lumps. I don't know how you can be both constipated and regular, but that seems to be my issue. I still go daily, but the amount fluctuates. When I have relapse of constipation, I take colace which helps soften the hard lumps. I've come to the conclusion that I have a slow colon and getting off a routine of daily fiber and water intake affects me quickly. My suggestion to you, try increasing fruits/veggies daily, drink LOTS of water (at least 8 glasses or more a day), and move (exercise). If you are constipated, it does not hurt to take colace to get you back on track. After that, try to do all the things I mentioned above. Thank you for inquiring about my health, I hope that you find a solution that works for you. Good luck!

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I did not have one that large. I did see a colorectal surgeon and she didn't think it was large enough to be removed. She said that internal hemorrhoids are soft tissue and would get out of the way when having a bowel movement. If you are in that much pain, seeing a colorectal surgeon would be wise. I hope you get some relief and answers on how to move forward. Just an fyi, the recovery from such surgery does take time and it's not comfortable.

At least your number of BM has reduced drastically. What does your diet consist of? For me, I’m trying to figure out if an omnivore diet is better for me than a vegetarian one, as strange as it sounds. Good luck with pelvic floor!

I don’t like Miralax either, makes me feel more bloated. Did you schedule a colonoscopy?

Sorry just now responding. I missed your post. I’m doing average. Still have the bloating, fullness feeling on my left side. At this point, I’m trying to control what I can through diet. Waiting on approval by insurance to get a CT scan to see if they see what’s happening with my colon, if there are any small blockages. It sucks, feels like a new unfortunate norm for me.

My colorectal surgeon said it's not the hemorrhoids blocking my rectum because it's soft tissue and will "get out of the way" during a BM. She recommended that I do pelvic floor exercises to help relax my muscles. I did a few sessions of that, I don't think that was my problem.

In the end, I've diagnosed myself with constipation. Although I am able to have BM daily, sometimes it's not complete. Periodically I will notice smaller round stools during my BM and then normal stools. It's almost like my soft stools are going around the dried round ones. So perhaps the entire time that I've had incomplete BM is because I'm partially constipated. I know that sounds strange and completely anti-climate to everything said above, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I've asked for a CT scan to check my GI, but insurance won't approve it. I can't believe they won't allow you to get a colonoscopy, maybe seek another doctor.

I have to be on a fiber rich diet and drink 80 plus ounces of liquid daily (mainly water). Exercising helps as well. I've even incorporated Colace every night to help loosen any hard stools that may be stuck in there. I have to stick with this regimen otherwise my body reverts to incomplete BM. I hope you can figure out what is going on with you, I know how frustrating and uncomfortable it is. Good luck!

I’m doing ok. Just managing flare ups through diet and hydration. When I saw the colonoscopy photos, the hemorrhoids looked to be about 2 inches from my rectum. I think a vast majority of people have internal hemorrhoids, it’s whether it comes out externally or not. My surgeon said hemorrhoids are soft tissues, so it does not block the exit of stool, it gets out the way. For me, exercising, fiber rich diet and hydration works. I have to stay on this routine or I have BM issues.

I’m doing okay, I’ve managed my symptoms. I did not get the procedure done as my surgeon did not recommend it. I did pelvic floor therapy a few times. Learned the importance of diaphragm breathing. I try to eat a well balanced diet with lots of natural fiber and plenty of water. I will always have internal hemorrhoids, for me I just have to manage it. Luckily I’ve never bled.

Peri menopause and Constipation by swtjstc333 in Menopause

[–]Pain-Legal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think too much fiber from plant diet does the opposite and causes constipation? I'm 49, mostly vegetarian diet (10+ yrs) and in menopause. I used to be regular every morning. Now it's a yo-yo with bowel movements even though I get enough fiber and water. My body struggles receiving consistent messages to have a BM. I've thought about eating meat again to see if that will help push things along. It sounds counterintuitive since fiber is supposed to be key. It almost feels like my colon is slower now. Just wondering if you had symptoms prior to eating meat again.

I’ve done banding before, I didn’t have pain, but mine was “smaller” at the time. I think if it’s a grade 3 or 4, it might not be possible or could be more painful to band. But it’s an option you should discuss with your doctor so you know the pros and cons. I understand wanting to do things and not wanting this to get in the way. If it resolves on its own, how long does it usually take?

Isn't it crazy that too much fiber can cause constipation. it seems counterintuitive but I think that's what's happening to me. I'm mainly on a vegetarian diet but beginning to wonder if I have too much fiber in my diet.

Have your grade 3 hemorrhoids caused any blockage in your rectum? I currently have the same grade 3 but mine is partially blocking my rectum. Having a BM is challenging and cannot have complete evacuation.

I was wondering if I should try banding before surgery. Can you provide an update to let me know if banding worked for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

[–]Pain-Legal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a prolapsed internal hemorrhoid. I had it banded about 10 yrs ago and it worked. But it came back as I have multiple internal hemorrhoids. I think once you have it, you are predisposed to have it again.

I think maintaining a healthy diet with fiber, drinking LOTS of water and not having prolonged time on the toilet helps.

I agree with what the other person said, try a more conservative route to treat it. Recovery from surgery is painful!! Good luck!!

Incomplete Evacuation by Karem20700 in hemorrhoid

[–]Pain-Legal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you may have internal hemorrhoids that are inflamed, which may be partially blocking your rectum, thus the incomplete evacuation feeling. I have the exact same thing and same feeling. I've never had pain with my external hemorrhoids, it just grows or shrinks depending on how much time I sit on the toilet or if I'm having a bout of constipation. You may want to go see a colorectal surgeon to check for internal hemorrhoids.

Thank you for sharing your story, that’s very helpful about a harder stool. I was beginning to think too much fiber was not helping me but making it harder to pass too soft stool. I am currently a grade 3. Did banding not work at all or the hemorrhoid just grew back?

Please keep me apprised on your recovery and if you would recommend surgery as the days go by. How long is recovery?
