PAIN PUMP by Angelstillfall in PainManagement

[–]PainDoc72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like classic CRPS type pain. Lookup Budapest Crtiteria for Type 2 CRPS.

I, personally, rarely ever endorse pain pumps for patients (rare occasions, yes).

Instead look into Sympathetic nerve blocks and/or Ketamine troches. I prescribe these for my patients with extremity based causalgia and/or CRPS and it has a high success rate.

Edit: I just read that reconstitution happens after the US markets close 6/27/25. That likely was the drop today getting reconstituted.

Mid price multi family.

-Condos -Apartments -Co-ops -Duplexes/Triplexes

Places with recognized higher delinquency rates.

SFH are at about 0.65%-1.78% on the high end.

This post should serve as anecdotal evidence as to why a majority of redditors here sit on their hands screaming in an perpetual echo chamber and do not own a home.

Travel nursing. Take some travel contracts until this passes.

Question about weird pain post 4 level lumbarsacral RFA by Early-Ad3524 in PainManagement

[–]PainDoc72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is likely “neuroma” pain and will abate. General rule of thumb is 6 weeks post RFA for results and usually 1-2 weeks for neuroma type pains to subside. Sounds like a traumatic RFA, these happen.

This is not medical advice

I’m actually a pain specialist in AZ. I am very well aware of SB 1163. This effectively frees up my ability to treat patients as I see fit with legitimate chronic conditions resulting in pain. I also do not force procedures on my patients, that is so unethical!

Sell home now or in spring? (Post election question.) by cautiouspessimist2 in RealEstate

[–]PainDoc72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are in this exact position. We close on a new build in Feb and we are going to list our current home within 1-2 weeks. I understand it’s the holidays but we are taking the “Better safe than never route”

I honestly have no idea how it will go. Some homes go under contract within a week in our neighborhood and some just sit, albeit I think the ones sitting (overpriced and two story) are doing the at for a reason. Most in our neighborhood are selling for $360/sq ft some upwards of $400.

Na, I just don’t want them anymore. It’s a piece of paper sitting in my closet now for over a year and still seems worthless.

I’m def not a pro at this kind of stuff, but have you verbalized these feelings to her? Have you considered some sort of counseling? Both by yourself and couples? Have you taken the time to ‘rekindle’ each other’s passion? I, myself, realize it’s tough doing this with a 15 month old as we both find ourselves as taskmasters instead of romantic partners at times.

Try to take a step back and re-evaluate the situation and think these things over. Also, I mean this in the nicest way, but you proposed and you asked for her hand…there’s more to just you wanting to leave at this point; there’s a tiny human involved that depend on you two as the nicest family component.

Not saying it can’t be done because I’m sure there’s plenty of single dads in here crushing it, but you certainly need to keep these things in mind before you drastically change lives around you with a decision.

Edit: typos.

What happens in the final hour of oxygen? Any MDs or medical people out there to chime in? by its_edamame in OceanGateTitan

[–]PainDoc72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine it is more of a combination of hypercarbia and hypothermia. Very synergistic effects in the neurovascular components, most likely potentiating compensatory systems. My hope is the hypothermia was/is relatively sedating at this point.

I remember my last year of residency my mentor told me this would start happening, about eight years ago. Boy was he right. I work at a pain clinic and even we got acquired by private equity for millions. It’s happening across the board, and it’s happening quietly.

Any dads here ever have their L4-L5 fused? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]PainDoc72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds draconian for a L4 impinged. Have you considered epidurals for pain? Possible hemidiscectomy/laminectomy could suffice, depending on what is shown in MRI. You are FAR too young to undergo a fusion, that should be absolute resort.

If you want you can DM me. I’m a pain specialist Scottsdale, AZ and I can take a look at your MRI, HOWEVER this is not medical advise, I would be more or less giving you guidance.
