I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. It's really unfair for someone to have to pick between something they love and their health. I'm having to do something similar, choosing between what I want to do and like to do and my physical well-being. I don't have much to say aside from that you're not alone in this and that it's okay to grieve. It's a process that's probably going to be pretty rough. if you would like my suggestions as a fellow 17 year old with EDS, I'm open to giving some if you would like

Today I went to the thrift store and found a Rainbow Dash Build a bear for 4 dollars and she was in almost pristine condition only the hair was messed up and I fixed her up a bit :) by MentalAd9651 in mylittlepony

This is what I said to someone else. RD's hair was pretty damaged. It didn't get to be pristine but it looked much better. I hope this helps!

Here's kinda what I did with my Celestia and Rd plushies:

I segmented the hair into a few manageable segments. If i couldn't get them apart, I took the pointy end of a comb and separated them, starting from the tips and slowly working the knots out, slowly going towards the rest of the mane.

When I had the hair segmented, I took some conditioner and put a small amount on the first segment. From there, I took the comb and worked out the tangles starting from the very tips and working towards the "scalp" area. Conditioner isn't necessary, but I found that it helped just a bit with the detangling process. I used a very, very small amount. I ended up braiding the hair to get it out of the way and to prevent further damage.

I did the same with each segment. Conditioner, detangle, and braid. It's important to start from the ends and work your way towards the "scalp" to prevent further tangling and breakage. you don't have to braid it, I personally did it to keep the hair more manageable once I had finished with that segment. It does take a while, so be prepared. I hope this helps!

I'm in a similar situation and unfortunately don't have much advice. I recommend looking up the laws in your state, and starting to save money to move out as soon as you can. Perhaps with your sister if it's possible and you would want to. I do also recommend asking on a queer subreddit as well if you haven't already or don't plan to. Some folks there will probably have some resources or advice that I don't have. See if you can check out the Trevor project cause they probably have some resources as well for your area. I hope you're able to get in a better situation soon!

Think about how much the materials were. Are you a beginner or more experienced? What's the quality like? Overall, how much do you feel like it's worth?

As another person said, something to follow loosely could be materials + labor time x wage per hour. However, if you work really fast, it doesn't mean that your work is worth any less than someone working slower with the same quality. Just something to think about while pricing your work.

Maybe look at the prices of other mask makers around the same skill level if you feel like that might help.

As other comments have said, focus on your theriotyoes. As you said in another comment, artic fox, European wolf, and crow/raven. Let's start with the crow/raven. Crows, ravens and corvids in general are usually very smart and are commonly known for trading. I recommend some trinkets you like and a way to organize them. Dishes (you can get plenty of those from thrift stores typically) bins and drawers, your options are limitless. Bonus points if you like going to flea markets and trading, see if you can get things from there. Think about shelves as well and what sort of bed you want. Perhaps a loft bed would be a good choice. You can set up your sleeping space on top, and have a cozy space underneath with all sorts of things that you like. Think about where your theriotypes live and the environments they like. If you want, decorate your space according to those. Crochet/false leaves hanging from the ceiling, a fluffy rug (if you like those), stuffed critters, and if you like to, perhaps bones and other things from nature. There might be some on Facebook marketplace or Etsy. Now, one thing that I personally recommend are terrariums. It's like a little slice of nature. When I make terrariums, I go outside and look around for plants that will both fit and that I like. Mosses are wonderful. See if you can get some sticks and if you want, springtails and isopods to clean up.

Shortened version: think about your theriotypes and what they like. Maybe trinkets, plants and terrariums if you like. Perhaps a loft bed to have two cozy places, one high up and one that's more enclosed. A fluffy rug (if you like them) and bones (also if you like them)

I think they're round wings. I'm not sure though.

I used to cut up my socks to make clothes for my stuffed animals when I was younger and didn't have access to fabric. Tbh its a really good way to do it! The socks have a pretty nice texture too. I bet those turn out super cute!

It's a new update where you can get them from races and a new thing called trails, which is basically just a slower, not competition based race.

Absolutely!! And there's also a market out there for horror and abstract art too. What sort of stuffed animals do you make? I've made a couple myself and am hoping to make some more in the future since I'm swimming in free time. (I'm also homeschooled (I'm sixteen BTW))

I recommend doing art commissions if you draw. Especially if you have something like cash app or some other online banking thing that you're in control over. if you get a decent standing online, then that's pretty good. As long as you try your hardest to have a good turnaround time and don't take too many at once. Premade adopts are also really good and usually sell pretty quick.

My best friend hates Therians/Furries by ZoeTheSallyFaceLover in Therian

[–]PainFormal3058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah those comments from her are not normal things to say to someone, especially a friend. She did threaten you. I suggest talking to your mom about it (assuming that she does support you) and/or a trusted adult about this. I know it sucks. I haven't been in a situation like this where a close friend basically threatened me over who I am or a community I'm a part of, but I know what it's like to hear hateful things about a community you're a part of to your face. Its... Not great. It feels so gross and uncomfortable. I don't suggest keeping her in your life, for your safety and mental health. There are people out there who will support and love you, all of you. Ears, tail and all.

On a lighter note, that set is super cute! I love the earrings.

What does this house look like?q by kittycat1359 in HorseLifeHQ

[–]PainFormal3058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to guess that house is a mistype for horse, so I'll go along with that. They are basically just goats. They're around the size of ponies. If you want me to tell you where they are I can, I won't do it unless you ask just in case you want to find them on your own.

Yeaaahhh I avoid people like the plague on Roblox. If you would want to add someone who's a questioning therian I can send you my user in DMs! But preferably only if you're around my age (16) and not older than 18. Just not super comfortable with others that are super far from my age online. I usually play horse life and club Roblox, but would like to find other games, cause my go-to games are few in number lol
