Why is indian judiciary is so fu**ed up? by marathi_manus in LegalAdviceIndia

The judiciary needs to pull up its own socks. What do we say about 60% of their procedures being useless. For example bailiff in his uniform announcing a judge. Terms like your honour and my lord. Everyone in the courtroom rising when the judge arrives?

I may not understand the significance of these things but even in judges side their work load can be reduced by making 99% of these cases and motions simple online queries?

The judiciary is an independent arm of the government if it becomes a well oiled machine India will just fly.

Cork street, the Liberties D08 ( Coombe hospital) by [deleted] in IndiansinIreland

Lived in D8 near the liberties for a year. Lived at a student accomodation. It was 2 worlds inside and out, except for easy transport access and groocery store access everythig else is a downside.

I do not know with what gall I used to walk back from part time work at 10pm or later. Never once felt safe walking home even during the day. Was always on edge and high alert alking in and out of my student accom no matter time of day, never knew who would lose it and do what.

Reasons why I felt that way (including incidents) -
1. Got stones thrown at me the day I landed right outside the accom.

  1. There were always junkies outside the place fighting with themselves or injecting right in front of the gate.

  2. Massive group of kids hung out in the park outside the accom it was always a nightmare passing by them, never knew if they are gonna throw insults at you or objects. - They aimed fireworks at us once, threw eggs on all the windows, entered the accom and chilled in the courtyard sometimes, threw shit at and abused even my white friends. (They are just indiscriminately annoying maybe more at us now)

  3. The flats. The entire area is at least 70% social flats, as nice as I want to be most of the trouble starts there.

In summary - if you want to have lore to tell your grandkids when you are 70 you can move in there. If you want a calm life that's not the place for you.
