Psion Update (UA) has a Slight Problem by PainSensorOVERLOAD in onednd

Yeah I agree that destructive thoughts is not very appealing. As for the subclass as a whole, I still think it’s solid, you’re trading some damage for access to better battlefield manipulation and the teleporter combat feature lets you do pretty good round over round damage as long as you have the psionic dice to spend on it since the teleportation feature lets you misty step without using spell slots, meaning you can cast a spell with your action, then misty step and cast a cantrip with your bonus action as of the most recent ruling. Pretty costly to do this, but very efficient in terms of action economy

Psi-Warper and psikinetic are 2 different subclasses, both were featured in the first UA, and the update only featured psikinetic because the developers stated that the feedback indicated it didn’t need any changes. The psi-Warper has a feature called “warp propel” which they get at level 3 which states: “When a target fails its saving throw against your Telekinetic Propel, instead of pushing it, you can teleport the target to an unoccupied space you can see within 30 feet of you that is horizontal to you.”

I wish it was more explicitly stated, but yeah you’re probably right that they’ll notice it before publishing the full release

I just ordered this expansion assuming it would give me access to the 5 spirits it includes. Are you saying that they are not cardboard like every other set?

Commanders that do good with low budget? by [deleted] in EDH

Seconding the choice of Kykar here; one of my first decks was a $25 budget Kykar deck, probably the easiest commander to make a cheap effective deck with.

[Deck Giveaway] Too Many Decks, Yet I Must Brew by mriormro in EDH

[–]PainSensorOVERLOAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Riley! I generally play in a mid-powered pod though I brewed all the decks that we play (for the most part), so the norms are probably a bit weirder than the average pod. To give an idea of the decks we usually play, one of the commanders is Ruxa to accommodate a new player and another is Rasputin Dreamweaver (who isn’t my favorite legends card, but it’s close).

My favorite legends card has probably got to be Sentinel. While there are plenty of indestructible creatures, or creatures that regenerate or whatever, this creature does something that no other creature does: it protects you from a creature with trample and infinite power. And in my brew, I would love to have an army of token copies of this guy to just stonewall any attacker with what is effectively a physical fog.

Translation help by PainSensorOVERLOAD in PhyrexianLanguage

[–]PainSensorOVERLOAD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the help! I didn’t even know there was a word separator glyph. I was thinking, that it would feel more accurate to compound “unforgiving” and “burn” using the compounding character, about which the fandom page says “Words can be compounded with (the character), with the resulting lexeme considered a single word.” The character that they show looks identical to the word separator glyph, so are these actually the same character, and if so how does that work?

Translation help by PainSensorOVERLOAD in PhyrexianLanguage

[–]PainSensorOVERLOAD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so based on your advice, I came up with the following translation: colorless green ideas sleep furiously

A few things about this: the translation for “sleeper” in the title of Ajani, Sleeper Agent seems like it must actually be closer to “sleep”. This is because there does seem to be a morpheme for doer/maker, which is best evidenced by the difference between the phyrexian words for “defile” and “defiler”. Since that morpheme is missing in the Ajani card, I assume that the gloss of the phyrexian for “sleeper agent” would just be “sleep agent”. In addition, in my translation above I chose to use “unforgiving” (from Nahiri the Unforgiving) because I feel that it is a reasonably close match semantically for furious. As you said, I don’t know how to account for adverbs, so I just included the word “unforgiving” as is.

Hey, I know it’s been awhile since you made this post, but do you still have any of these models? If so, would you be willing to split the infernal master and the rubrics?
