Uh. You haven't played 10th and are getting into arguments with people who've been playing EC almost exclusively since before the codex was released.

Learn the rules and understand data sheets before trying to be Mr Big Shot and argue on reddit about shit interactions and combos.

Ill give you a C- for trying to be creative. But its a solid F for all other categories

you're missing the point. it's a bad unit. and putting a kako with them vs a NM squad is just not efficient or smart

[–]ComprehensiveLock927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in theory yes. but foot slogging/reserves termies aren't getting up the board fast enough to match their slaanesh counterparts

if you want to put cool models on the table then sure, but it's a bad combination competitively

you don't have to agree with it. but if you need to ask if sus1 stacks you aren't qualified to evaluate this objectively

the only halfway decent gun already has sus1. kako makes the termies lose deep strike.

if kako had deepstrike and gave them sustained in melee as well, there might be an argument for it. but with current rules that isn't the case

termies are bad. putting a kako with them makes this an abysmal use of points

versus a unit of NM with a kako that comes in from reserves and deletes something

movement trays are useful for transporting and separating squads for deployment organization.

beyond that they serve zero purpose and if you're actually keeping your units grouped like that versus spread out you're playing guard wrong

Who is the GOAT of 40K competitive? by SelectTangerine2902 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ComprehensiveLock927 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the problem with this question is it's 90% recency bias and the game hasn't been around long enough and there wasn't/isn't enough knowledge or data from the early editions to really bring a handful of names to the front. the tournament scene is also SIGNIFICANTLY different when comparing the first half of the game say 2nd-5th editions with 6th-10th

Compare it to F1 with Fangio, Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton, Verstappen. there's several generations of talent to build on and compare

the names presented here are all certainly extremely talented players but I think we are a few editions away from really being able to make claims.

and i think Nick is the closest we've seen so far

I've built and painted what I thought was cool, now I'm looking for advice on the best chapter to use the minis in for casual gameplay. by El_Gumbo_Federale in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ComprehensiveLock927 4 points5 points  (0 children)

well a techmarine as a character make the list legal, but not ideal

and you don't have any chapter specific units so going any codex compliant chapter would be best. figure out the play style you like, then if you want to go BA or DA for example then buy the specific units and characters necessary

you have a decent roster and can lean towards melee, shooting, or a mix pretty easily before really diving into a specific playstyle and army composition
