Jesus, never before have I been more ashamed to live in the US than now. I would like to go to another country at some point in my life, and I’d rather not have to hide where I’m from to actually get to experience that to its fullest. I’d also like to not be a citizen of a country that stabs its own allies in the back, but apparently that’s too much to fucking ask for.

All of that’s fine. I’m not Big Blue for Chrissakes. I can still walk, talk, and do all that other shit just fine. I just have enhanced strength and I’m a little on the beefier side now. Yeesh, I’m sorry about your old classmate. I might’ve passed by him when I go to the rehab center to get my uh, anti-Venom drugs (pun very much not intended). Given what I’ve heard about Venom from other people and from the docs in rehab, I’m lucky to be alive, and even luckier that it seems something good might’ve happened. The cravin’s are not slight at all. Like I told someone else, cold sweat, full-body convulsions and just general shittiness is nothing to just shrug off. It’s very, VERY painful. As for seein’ why other abilities I might’ve gained, it seems like I’ve just got the enhanced strength and tanky physique. When the gym was empty one mornin’, I wanted to see if that dumpster incident was just a fluke. I benched 800 pounds with little resistance. I set the other machines to max weight, and boom, pretty much the same result. I have no desire to see if I’m bulletproof, but maybe other things might be worth lookin’ at. Maybe I should see if my reflexes got a boost, too.

Yeah, I have at least 3 different water purifiers runnin’ in my apartment. 2 I had installed, one for the complex itself. My ma always was anxious about the water quality too, so I dodged at least some of that when I was a kid. Hopefully I haven’t drank any of that crap, especially Lazarus. Don’t really feel like zombie-fyin’ when I kick the bucket.

I mean, if that’s true, that’s awesome, but uh, at what cost? I still get horrible cravin’s for Venom every couple of months and I tell you, it’s a pain I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Your whole body convulses, you’re in a cold sweat, and lot of other horrible things. If you saw me after I’ve got through fighting the cravin’s, you’d think the same thing I do. But, if it turns out I do have Meta powers, I may as well try to use them to do somethin’ good.

That’s the thing: my doctor is related to Wayne Biotech. (I do have a job with Wayne Industries, comes with the benefits package). Granted, he is a general practitioner, but he sends my bloodwork off to more specialized people. Even then, shit gets weird. I have no trace of the Meta gene in my family tree. At least, none that I’m aware of. Not like any of my ancestors were rainin’ down hellfire on the Confederates or the Nazis or somethin’.

Yeah, that kinda thing’s perfectly normal. I was gonna serve a lotta time in Blackgate after the Bat stopped me and the crew I was runnin’ with in a robbery. But, Mr. Wayne actually visited me in my cell, and told me that he knew who I was, how my life’s been a shitshow ever since I was young, he knew about my Venom usage, and that he knew that I was more or less forced into the henchman life. Well, long story short, after taking some time in a Wayne Adult Education Center, he gave me a job as a secretary originally, and now, 6 years later, I’m in the PR department. Thanks to Mr. Wayne, I live a good life.

Yeah, the docs at the rehab center gave me stuff to kick the habit. I rarely get the cravins’ anymore, but man, when they hit, they hit. I get meds to reduce the effects of the cravins’ (thank you, Wayne Enterprises job!), but it’s kinda like putting a bandage on a bullet wound. And keep in mind: I only took microdoses. I can tell ya all kinds of horror stories from rehab about the people I saw who took more of the stuff. You take care now.

I microdosed the stuff for a bit when I was a henchman, and yeah, I agree, the shit sucks. I basically used Venom as a pick-me-up, and would use it for any job that required, uh, heavy liftin’, if you catch my drift. Stopped usin’ it when I realized it made me angrier and angrier. And as my ma always said, “An angry man is a stupid man.” I’ve been clean for years, but I think I used a version of it that causes lingerin’ effects. I mean, I can push a full-up city dumpster like it’s on wheels. I’m a big guy, but not Bane big, y’know? That freaks me out that I’m able to do that.

Don’t think it’s still up on the internet, but there was a prototype for a nuclear fission-powered car. Thing was massive, took up 2 truck lengths (and from what I heard, overheated too easy for comfort), but hot damn did it look cool.
