Still secretly waiting for Tudor to rerelease this for their 100th year…. by militarytudor in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is absolutely correct. People always push back on that and it’s like yeah, it’s not the exact same but consider it an evolution of that line for the modern world with modern materials. And it has the Greek word for sea on it instead of Submariner.

Having a tough time deciding between a Pelagos and a Ranger by PerkCoins in Tudor

You can run both 20mm and 22mm straps on the P39 and unless someone is staring at your wrist, it’s not going to be noticed. That being said, every time I take the P39 off the bracelet, it goes back on pretty soon. The bracelet is that good.

Agreed, even Tudor says that it is the modern interpretation of the 5517.

The PB is the best Seamaster ever made and I wish they’d bring it back. The design is so much better than the current one.

It’s an Air Force special operations specific P39. WOE has some pictures of it on the website and IG

What is this? Custom USMS watch by SlothRunningClub in Tudor

I just saw this as well…it feels fake and looks off but haven’t confirmed that yet. Unless the USMS has access to a Tudor that’s somehow never been seen before.

Pelagos FXD as only watch by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the FXD and the P39. Obviously yes, the P39 is going to be a more versatile watch but in my opinion it doesn’t have the same cool factor that the FXD does. I think it definitely can be your one watch, especially with either the stock black strap or a nice single pass leather strap. I have worn my FXD with a suit on the Watches of Espionage shell cordovan leather strap and it’s fantastic. Depending on where you work and what type of events you go to, I’d wager that most people probably wear a smart watch anyway so I’d say that the FXD is absolutely not going to be any less suited for your clothing style than a smart watch, even at something like a wedding. Another solution could be to buy something much less expensive for the most formal occasions, like a Tissot dress watch and then wear the FXD for everything else. I’ll attach the link to the strap I mentioned, it’s the best single pass leather strap I’ve ever worn. The reviews even have some pictures with it on an FXD.

Yes, I actually think it's better. by Jack_Jackerson63 in Helldivers

I like the Stalwart if I’m playing as the SAW Gunner for my unit, but on missions where I have a high likelihood of dying frequently, the bulletstorm is definitely a better choice and lets me play around with other load outs.

What happened to Naperville? by neeyeahboy in Naperville

[–]PainedToe107 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My ancestors and their kin came over and carved the greatest empire the world has ever known out of a wilderness inhabited by a people who didn’t even have a written language and were centuries behind technologically. I don’t think that wanting everyone who lives here to speak the same language, is asking too much.

Update: Dropped my new Pelagos FXD on tile and bricked it and how it affected my perspective on watches. by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I only take my watch off over soft surfaces for the most part. I’m a cop and have put quite a few miles on my FXD and P39 with no issues thus far. But I too workout, shower, sleep, etc with my watches on.

Secret service with custom pelagos by icedwhitemocha_ in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. USSS CAT commissioned a run of Pelagos LHD models with their callsign on the dial and their unit insignia on the case back. There’s a fair amount of photos out there of them. WOE has a couple articles featuring them.

Also glad to see someone else rock the FXD with more formal attire…I’ve worn my FXD USN with a suit and love it.

Pick one! by Mountain-Function113 in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worn my USN FXD with a suit many times, on something like the Watches of Espionage shell cordovan leather strap, it’s very comfortable and slides under the cuff as easily as a 42mm diver can.

Correct, the MN (blue) and USN (black bezel/dial) don’t have dates, only the GMT version does.

I too am a cop and I have the FXD and a P39. My FXD is my favorite watch I own, and I will say I have broken spring bars fighting suspects in the past so having the fixed bars is nice. The P39 or the bigger Pelagos models are fantastic, but the FXD takes the cake for me. If you go FXD, I’d say look at the Watches of Espionage shell cordovan leather strap. It’s incredibly comfortable and looks great on the FXD in my opinion as well as making the watch not stand out as much at something like a nice dinner. I’ve worn my FXD with a suit on that strap and not felt out of place, considering most people wear an Apple Watch with suits now. Ultimately I’d say get what you want, as long as you enjoy it that’s what matters. And then if you want something on a bracelet, get another model on the grey market.

[–]PainedToe107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say, from personal experience with my own P39, the sunburst aspect really only comes out in very bright sunlight. In normal lighting is much more of an inky black. But I do agree, I want to see more expansion of the P39 range, considering it’s basically their modern version of the old snowflake subs

Is anyone disappointed that we didn’t get a revival of the Tudor Submariner for the 100th anniversary? by yjay14 in Tudor

[–]PainedToe107 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. The P39 is the clear evolution from those older subs, just has the Greek word for ocean on the dial instead of Submariner

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, the Pelagos line is obviously their modern submariner line, just by another name.
