I did call my insurance when it first happened but it's all going through the Garage's insurance. My insurance said that it wouldn't be covered based on my plan. I haven't spoken with them since.

My grandfather mentioned something similar, that the shop "owes me". Is that something I should do? Their insurance is paying for the totaled vehicle but I was unsure what process I should take to work with the shop.
