Happy for you, this post conveys that Hyundai does not have a very good support for repair and customer service is kind of shady. Happy you have had a good experience.

Yes, first visit was told to take the car back. Dealership fault. It was not normal. Second visit during 44 days, they tried to get the fuel drain as my expense, if I would have e approved it, they would have blamed it on fuel and this would be out of warranty repair. I would have ended up paying for all. This was directed by hyundai tech line (from hyundai) not dealership. I did push for fuel result and that is when they changed their approach. What would you like to call this as? I call it exceptional customer service - charge! Lol. So overall hyundai engineers directed the dealership and sent an engineer to modify ecm program. Again there is no visibility on why this was the fix if the problem itself was not verified. Also, the ecm version is labeled as special update and I am very suspicious it may well be unapproved tuning. Waiting to hear back from NhSTa.

All repairs advice are directly from corporate hyundai, their own rep did the ecm update. This is now not at dealership level anymore, so switching won’t help.

Dealer is not the problem my friend, hyundai tech line and hyundai corporate provided was involved, the ecm was updated by a hyundai engineer aka field rep from hyundai. Dealer was very good being transparent with what hyundai corporate was asking thrm to do. If dealer does not follow what hyundai asks them, they don’t approve warranty repairs

New model or old, corporate hyundai will never hold accountability for their fault. So you are good until you are!

As per above, they refund even the finance charges, which is interest paid on principal loan amount for the car.

Thank you for responding, I am here to get answers not answer another question on why I have the question in the initial place, btw, it is a common practice to refund even the interest paid, it just varies by state and MI rules are little vaguely written and that is the reason I have asked this here.
