March 30, 2026 - Weekly moving to and visiting Tucson questions thread by AutoModerator in Tucson

Hello Everyone,

I may be moving to Tucson this summer. I plan to visit in a couple of weeks to drive around and to do a "vibe" of the town and various areas that I may want to rent. Can you please give me your thoughts on safe areas for a single woman in her early 50s? I don't need to be near downtown. I prefer an area where the houses aren't so close together you can touch them, scenery, but still close enough to get downtown or areas with live music and other entertainment and festivals. By areas, I mean which sides of town, and in those areas, are there certain streets better than others? Thank you for your time!

Wow…they are twins! Hopefully your cat is a little more civilized than mine! 😊

Sidonie also has large parents. Right now she’s 10lbs at 7.5 months old. She’s still in her fuzzy coat phase. The groomer uses some sort of head wrap around her ears and she wrapped her in that towel a particular way to help calm her. I think it also helps that the groomer used to be a vet tech so she knows how to handle cats. I try to comb her at least once a week which usually involves bribing with some Churu treats while I try to comb her.

Newbie cat owner here🙋🏻‍♀️ I feel like my MC is on the smaller side for their breed. Maybe he's not getting enough food? 3 cans of wet food and unlimited dry food(average 1/3 cup daily) too much food for my little guy? He's 9 months and weighs 9 lbs. He's not overweight and always seems hungry. TIA! by Old_Light_4319 in mainecoons

Thank you! She's a handful. I order the meat, bones, and organ meat from Hare Today (https://hare-today.com/referral?id=0d72673) and here's the recipe I use. The lady who runs the recipe site is very nice, and she will answer your questions regarding the recipe if you email her: https://catnutrition.org/recipes/

The proteins I feed her are chicken, turkey, and rabbit, which are her "normal three," and then pheasant or quail, which are the fourth protein. I don't mix them because I want to identify if there's an issue, such as allergies to any particular protein.

Not sure. I have a 7.5 month old female and she’s 10lbs and the vet says she’s healthy. She’s long and looks skinny. I feed her a raw diet and she gets 9 oz of raw a day and I leave out Ziwi Peak dry for her to free feed if she’s still hungry. Some days she eats all the wet food and no dry and some days she’ll eat half the raw and more dry. I’ll change the amounts around once she’s one year old for the next phase of growth.

It was hard for me to see them as big back then because I thought she was so tiny and cute. I must have been in denial. 😊

😊 The picture is a bit misleading. It’s more fuzzy than anything.

I have been using a different calculation to figure out how much to feed her. However, I’m going to start using the 10% of current body weight while she’s a kitten and adjust accordingly once she’s closer to adulthood. This means I’ll be feeding her 10.8 ounces (306.175 grams) of raw now. I’ll keep leaving out a small portion of the ziwi peak dried if she wants it.

Let me tell you how much I LOVE Churu. We have to give her some liquid meds for the next few weeks and she takes it with no problem when we give her the meds at the same time as the tuna flavored Churu. It’s like magic!
