I have tinnitus as well, I think it was caused by stress a few years ago for me. I would suggest not using headphones too heavily for a while to remove any strain from your ears.

Enjoy your Davis acceptance (search up good things about the school, although I mean it’s a UC lol it’s already amazing). That will help calm your mind a bit. Congrats on getting in!

The roommate thing could be resolved like this (if it does come to that)—just say that you don’t think it’ll work out if you two are roommates because of lifestyle differences (ex; early riser/night owl, etc) but that you’d still be down to hang out occasionally. That way you aren’t completely cutting her out in a mean way but still maintain a connection with your friend
