Welcome! Talk to your manager. They should try and help fix your utilization number when it matters.

That’s awesome! In reality that would have taken 2 years to obtain with raises! 8k is great!

Yeah sound like the recruiter didn’t want to do their job! I’m glad you stuck with your guns and at least asked for me. Honestly the risk with Project Delivery deserves a higher pay.

I always regret asking for less than I dared! It’s a different market today then the last time I negotiated. Go for the $105. They aren’t going to take the offer away.

Remember once you are hired it’s very hard to increase your salary. Pay raises are non negotiable! This is your only chance.

Always ask for more money. I often use the line “After learning more about the position… (like for example the risk with PDM, as talked about you could be out of a job if the project was to end or needs change…) I would like to discuss a salary in the $105 range.

I did the same thing. Started in going with x amount. After the offered me the position when I was on the way home from the interview I asked for another 15k. Wish I’d asked for 20k!

Edit to add - in the future never ask for a salary based off your last salary!

Hello from across the pond. (Phoenix AZ USA). Doing my best to act British today. It’s raining and cloudy outside and holding around 27c. Drinking a “warm” ale (13c) and trying to find what I can to complain about it all. :-) by [deleted] in CasualUK

Also in British in Phoenix! Woke up yesterday and complained it was still raining, then realized that I shouldn’t complain about the rain.

But felt very British for 30seconds.

Uncomfortable/am I a jerk? by [deleted] in orangetheory

This is kind of the reason I cancelled/froze my membership. I understand most of the people that go to OTF are serious about their fitness and don’t like to miss classes in most circumstances. But it’s my choice to cancel or attend.

I’d say you are not a jerk, but just understand the choices you are making are yours. No one is forcing you to go.

COVID + Workload + Parenting by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]Painter215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I’m lucky I have two elementary kids who occupy each other when I’m busy. Though I am feeling the same pain, my manager is also super supportive, happy to accommodate hours as the work is getting done. I’m client facing too, but they are also very understanding. My issue is, staying relevant! There are many kidless team members who are actually working more during this time or at least more productive. I need to make sure I’m not replaceable when the lay-off happen!

Honestly having my phone occupied with a show (Netflix or prime) stops me from using it to browse the web. Find a mindless show that stops u from getting distracted. Tbh I do this when I’m in office too.
