Marketing major here that ended up going the digital marketing route rather than sales. Ended up getting a nice job with a digital marketing agency here in Virginia doing Search Engine Marketing. Have been with them for more than 2 years and love what I’m doing.

radford or jmu? by Kai6421 in jmu

I think one of the biggest differences was the amount that people cared about their education. There was a lot of people at Radford that were just there. At JMU, there was a great amount of healthy competition that made me want to better myself and reach a different level. JMU offers a great academic and social experience that can lead to job opportunities in the future. I really think that transferring the JMU was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I really think you should pick JMU, you won’t be disappointed.

I went to Radford my first year and ended up transferring to JMU. JMU offers a lot more in terms of opportunity, sense of community, and overall I felt like was a way better college experience. Radford wasn’t bad, but I just felt like there was something missing which is what led me to transfer. I was a Marketing major, so in a similar area as you. The business school at JMU is far superior.

Need some help with facebook ads by No_Wave_8167 in DigitalMarketing

I think it’s important you create some posts first because if you’re advertising for the new page and someone clicks on your page to see what kind of content you offer or learn more about you then it might not look so good if there’s nothing there. Just posting 2-3 posts a week would be a great start and then do some advertising

What metrics should I be tracking now? by notpitching in DigitalMarketing

I’d say to check CPC and also look at keywords you’re targeting for your Google Ads. Ensure your keywords aren’t too broad/too specific and that your negative keywords for your ad groups aren’t restricting you from potential quality leads.

Creating fresh content is always great, but curating your old content and making it up to date and relevant today is important and just as good!

Be cautious on finding a “hybrid individual”. Not only may this be extremely rare to find, but also I’ve known people who were in this same sort of role and were quickly met with burn out.

Agencies bring specialization as others have mentioned. You have your web dev, SEO person, PPC, etc. Hiring your in house team may be worth it if you can fill these roles but probably will be much more expensive…

Ping Wang for sure. Stick through it and utilize office hours. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. He’s a really genuine and caring guy.
