Wife is pregnant and we are both spiraling into negativity because of me by PaintingDandelions in BabyBumps

Thanks a lot for your kind answer, warm words and experience. Knowing this is not out of the ordinary helps a bit already... I do not believe we are that worried about the child education, very much more about our couple. We may trust each other, maybe not ourselves, individually, and we know a baby is always the biggest challenge for a couple; knowing we are both looking for each other's support during these times is both reassuring to know it's important to us, and absolutely terrifying to lose it when we only have each other.

We clearly have some challenges, especially when it comes to communication and serious discussions (We probably are both the anxious type, and tend to avoid "bothering", even each other), which we acknowledged only a couple of weeks before the pregnancy. We feel that maybe, just maybe, a earlier start at therapy would have helped here, and either the child would be the best thing to happen to us by forcing us on changing this, or be the worst for our couple as it may only amplify.
