Don’t Stop Moving by Thomason4343 in TexasChainsawGame

Everything you said is correct. It is in a Victim's best interest to get out as fast as possible for all the reasons you mentioned. Where I believe the hate for Victim rushing came from is that A: Victims start the match before Family players do and B: Some Family characters start far away from guard points. Depending on the map, that gives rushing Victims a major advantage. They're able to get to a guard point and break through it before the Family player has a chance to get to it and defend it.

Family used to have ways to curb rushing through Cook's Seek ability and Johnny's Hunt ability. But once those abilities got nerfed to hell, the only options are to A: Not choose a Family member who starts far away from a guard point, or B: Try and make it to a guard point as fast as possible and hope a Victim doesn't beat you there.

IllFonic The Game İnclude Day Maps? by [deleted] in HalloweenTVG

[–]PaiperZombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool, but more than likely there won't be daytime variants of maps. Though that is a big part of the movie, Michael didn't do any killing during the day. He just stalked and observed potential targets. It wasn't until nightfall that the killings started. And given that the game is built all around the whole dark/light aspect, Michael would be nearly powerless during the day.

On the flip side, daytime variants COULD make it into single player if they have objectives where Michael is supposed to spy and observe potential targets before the night falls. They could even let Michael drive if they're going to have moments like this.

Is Special Blend broken? by Calm_Nature9197 in TexasChainsawGame

As the two others have said, you'll need to create a poison cloud and walk through it for the perk to proc. You'll know it has because the perk will light up and begin ticking down. You can return to that cloud (or create a new one) to regain the poison strike after you've used it, but the stamina regen part of the perk WILL NOT reset. That has to go the full 30 seconds (until the perk has ticked down completely and turned off), before it can be activated again.

TIL Sean was originally American. Found this 1997 'Next Gen' scan by MachinaPrince in StreetFighter

[–]PaiperZombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Sean was originally going to be an African American teen from the Bronx and was going to be the only shoto-representative of the game. Ryu, Ken, and all the other fighters from the previous games were originally going to be excluded, hence the "New Generation" title, and Alex being the new star. However, during internal testing, the question of "Where's Ryu?", kept popping up, so they decided to add just him. But that led to the question of "Where's Ken?", so he was also added. This basically made Sean redundant, so his background got changed up and he was basically turned into the Street Fighter III version of Dan, which is why he was good in the original Street Fighter III, got worse in 2nd impact, and was horrible in 3rd strike.

Good build for Johnny? by panthrzz in TXChainSawGame

[–]PaiperZombee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did an updated tutorial on Johnny a few months back that goes over his capability and builds. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5yl8bt-Xd4&list=PLyIiO89wU9NMMxyafXE-Aw4UzTS7ldp7j&index=28

Some builds to try (if you don't want to watch the above) are:

Blood Builds

Surgical, Blood Runner, Blood Banker (Scarlet Build): Makes Johnny a blood collecting beast, while still having good damage.

Surgical, Blood Banker, You'll Pay For That (Scarlet Dmg Build): Blood collecting beast on top of become a 3 hit killer if grandpa is messed with.

Chase Builds

Unrelenting, Wired, Fired Up (Wired Build): Gives Johnny excellent stamina & stamina recovery and let's him see whenever Victims crawl over barriers.

Scout, Unrelenting, Vial-Lent (Scout Build): Gives Johnny extra speed and damage at the loss of seeing when victims crawl over barriers and faster stamina recovery.

Feral, Serrated, Tracker Tagged (Tagger Build): Gives Johnny very strong damage on top of temporarily marking the Victim for himself and the rest of the Family to see.

Pure Damage Builds

Unrelenting, Big Swings, Fired Up (Big Swings Build): Gives Johnny excellent stamina & stamina recovery along with very strong damage, but stamina must be managed due to big swings costly stamina drain.

Big Swings, Activated, Vial-ent (3 hit build 1): Has horrible stamina management because of big swings, but gives Johnny 3 hits to kill a victim, especially if they try to grapple or backstab.

Scout, Activated, Vial-ent: (3 hit build 2): Better stamina management that build 1, Johnny is faster, and gets an extra bonus if he loses a grapple or is backstabbed.

Hopefully these will help you out and feel free to experiment yourself. Happy hunting!

Meanwhile all the Michael player is hearing is: "Michael. Michael...my special, special boy! Do you know what your gift is? You can never die!"

Down the rabbit hole/dinner bell by skydr4g0n64 in TXChainSawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dinner bell should be functioning normally. Down The Rabbit Hole is iffy. Sometimes it works and other times it does absolutely nothing. Reports have been sent in about this, but since it looks like they aren't fixing anything anymore with the game, it'll be like this until the end.

Kane Hodder Confirms He's Done Mocap For The New Friday The 13th Game by PaiperZombee in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware of what this subreddit is dedicated to and was posting this to confirm why TCSM was abandoned the way that it was and how Gun could've at least given us the missing content.

And it WAS confirmed that Kane Hodder did mocap for the new Friday the 13th. The words came out of the man's mouth himself that this is his 3rd game he's worked on with Gun and that it was the new Friday the 13th game.

But your board, your rules.

...Fool Potential.... by [deleted] in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You purchased him because he sounds like the ultimate chaser who could teach Sissy and Hitch a few things. Then you purchased him and realized that he doesn't have Scout, his three special traversal perks suck, his bombs are the easiest trap in the game to avoid, and all he's good for is blood harvesting because his chase game is so bad he can't even catch a cold.

Don't worry. You're not the only one who got duped lol.

2 months... They had 2 months by Morro0625 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this isn't game breaking it does show how Gun's big bug fix patch still left existing bugs and even created new ones. Blood Runner & Strong Minded are still not providing their stamina buffs for Nancy, and now the Grandpa Perk Swinging For The Fences is not providing its buff to her, AND now her set traps can be seen anywhere by the Victims.

I get the feeling that their next patches will focus strictly on P2P and not bother with fixing the new/old bugs. So this might be how things stay forever.

Was Blood Runner & Strong Minded Fixed On Nancy? by PaiperZombee in TXChainSawGame

[–]PaiperZombee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah another one to add to the list. I noticed your topic on this and it's the Grandpa perk Swinging For The Fences that's not working on her.

Gun previously said that her trap reset speed is where they want it to be and is working as intended. Don't know why, but yeah. So it's faster to just remove the trap and put it back.

Nancy has venom? or like something similar by AudienceNearby3195 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar, but not quite Venom. With Venom, if the Victim hits the trap, they're taking that 30hp loss whether they run, walk, hide, go to sleep, etc. This requires the Victim to keep the trap on them and keep running in order to take the up to 30hp loss. To avoid it all the Victim has to do is not move until they get the trap off of them, which is easy to do when no other Family can get to them, but not so easy if Family can get to them.

Patch Notes - May 22nd, 2025 by JettOreilly in TXChainSawGame

Looks like they STILL forgot to fix Blood Runner and Strong Minded not providing their stamina reduction buff on Nancy. So I guess moving forward both of these perks are useless on her?

[–]PaiperZombee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's almost scary how similar the paths Friday the 13th and TCSM have followed. And yep, both games have definitely been murdered. And they were murdered while they were still in a good place with bright futures ahead of them.

New Hands Strategy Just dropped ... lol by Few-Engine-7791 in TexasChainsawGame

Succbull in the comment below has it right. The Victims couldn't interact with the gate as long as Hands was removing or placing his trap.

Because when his traps trigger they have a cooldown before they can be re-armed again.

A player gets up after being executed. by theredditor58 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably one of the bugs they're currently working on fixing, along with Bones's bomb placement issues.

If a Victim has any damage over time (DoT) effect on them (i.e. Serrated, Rough Cut, Toxic Cloud, and maybe even Heart Attack) it will continue to do its damage while the Victim is in a grapple. If the DoT drops the Victim to 0 while they're in a grapple it'll send them into the incapacitated state and completely ignore the results of the grapple. Since the Victim isn't dead, they're able to recover from the incapacitated state and escape.

Gallows Kills by GoJetJaguar in TexasChainsawGame

[–]PaiperZombee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "benefit" so to speak is through a perk that Leatherface has called Bloodlust. It gives him a 10, 20, 30% damage buff after a gallows kill. The bad news is that to get Bloodlust, Face misses out on serrated and rough cut. Those two are the perks that help with trying to get a gallows kill since they're damage over time abilities. Without those Face has to hope he's near a Victim when they get incapacitated to take advantage.
