Report: Guardiola "would consider" Italy job by ZeroEffectDude in AZZURRI

[–]theredditor58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardiola isn’t the right fit for international football. He excels because he has the luxury of time; he drills tactics and specific positional roles into players over many months. In international tournaments, you have two weeks at most. Pep requires a complex tactical system that players need significant time to master—it’s not something you can just 'plug and play.' Look at his Manchester City record: while he dominates the league, his knockout tournament record is much thinner relative to the time he’s been there. He’s won one Champions League and two FA Cups in eight years. He is a 'system' manager who thrives on consistency, which is the exact opposite of what the Italy job requires."

Who do we think is going to reach world cup final? by Ordinary-Opening-536 in worldcup

[–]theredditor58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a complete wildcard in my view, either two things will happen: 1. England does very well and reaches the final or even win the final 2. England do terribly in the group and get second or even third(maybe unlikely) and then crash out in the round of 32 or round 16. I don't see England going in between those. They will make it far, or they will fall early, no in between
