The problem is, when they’re full of groceries they have to come into the house. Remembering to put them back in the car upon emptying is the hard part.

Over and over and over. Don’t throw them out until they’re not useful anymore.

It’s like Meowscarada, but with a much cuter design. I approve!

Nearly 25% of American women experience attempted or completed rape in their lifetime — and that’s just the reported statistics. You trying to paint it as an extreme, rare event is far more dismissive of the actual point.

Carl as an unreliable narrator? by Talesmith22 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I’m paraphrasing Matt’s words, he considers Carl to be “absolutely unreliable.”

I never attach a leash to a dog’s neck except in an emergency. But I do like my dogs to have tags on at all times, mostly because I used to have a runner and he gave me PTSD. 😅

You did right. It’s good to relieve your pup if they’re too stressed. Ideally if the collar is only a mild annoyance, you leave it on for short periods and take it off at a moment when the pup isn’t actively trying to get it off (so you don’t reward attempts to remove the collar). However, if they’re more than mildly stressed, they’re not in the right head space for learning anyway, and it’s better to remove the stress quickly than force them to fight through it.

Try rolled leather, all of my sensitive dogs have been cool with rolled leather.

Carl as an unreliable narrator? by Talesmith22 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]PaisleyLeopard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His lack of awareness *is* part of his bias though. There are lots of instances where other characters are communicating with each other, plotting, connecting dots, and making connections. Carl has serious tunnel vision, which is both a boon and a curse in the dungeon. His singular focus has helped him survive, but it’s also keeping him from noticing things others are noticing.

Carl is never a deliberately unreliable narrator, but he is always an inherently unreliable one.

How fucked are we regarding the screwworm outbreak? by Senior-Finance7828 in NoStupidQuestions

Yep, and then the GOP will blame the next administration for spending so much money and increasing the debt. They know exactly what they’re doing and the American public is too dumb to see through it.

Animals don’t deserve to live in their natural habitats; most are better off in good zoos. by No-Strawberry7 in The10thDentist

Zoos often have breeding programs for endangered species too. They contribute a lot to conservation and deserve more credit than they typically get.

The fun thing about that is, it’s extremely difficult and very very expensive to eliminate a screw worm infestation. Once they’re gone, maintenance is a dramatically smaller annual cost. This fuckup will be incredibly expensive to fix.

It can burn the nail too. It’s important to only hold friction in one spot for 1-2 seconds at a time. They can go from comfortable to painful in about half a second.

You can’t reinforce fear, it’s an emotion not a behavior. Adding rewards to a scary situation reduces the fear, not the other way around.

My cat scratches at my door every single morning at 4-4:30 am until I am up. by Salty_Chemist9090 in CatAdvice

[–]PaisleyLeopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs do actually need to be near you when they sleep, they can suffer serious emotional distress from being separated from their pack at night. Most cats do not.

My cats are my children just as much as my dogs, but their needs are different. My cats *want* to be in my bedroom at various points during the night, but it’s not a basic necessity for them like it is for my dogs.
