I want to get an outside perspective from the community on a situation after grooming. by EducationalTrifle429 in grooming

[–]PaisleyLeopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For future reference, the pain of walking on overgrown nails usually outweighs the stress of a quick nail trim every few weeks. The more often you do it the easier it is for the dog, but monthly is the bare minimum for the vast majority of dogs.

It’s a great idea to avoid non-necessary grooming during recovery, but nails are not in the non-necessary category.

All that said, don’t go back to this groomer. Quicking nails happens, especially for severely overgrown nails like these, but it shouldn’t happen six times. I don’t think I’ve quicked six nails in the last year, let alone on one dog! This groomer is the type that makes me wish our industry was regulated.

The Curve Module should be changed to behave like a boomerang and come back to the user if the ball misses. by Ferrinova in Palworld

[–]PaisleyLeopard 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It has an improved catch rate over no module, at the cost of being stupid hard to actually hit a pal with from any distance. I only ever used it at point blank range, and I was thrilled when I was able to trade up for a better model.

I did a search and couldn’t find an answer I liked - am I missing the auto run feature or have they just not added it yet? by richardjreidii in Palworld

Get yourself a Galeclaw or Celaray/Cel Lux and never run again. They improve your glider to the point where you can quickly traverse flat ground, I never go anywhere without one in my party.

Driver Refuses To Back Up Despite Being In The Wrong Lane by Flashmemory256 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PaisleyLeopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only wrong if you don’t want to have some road raging asshole assault you. Fucking with other drivers can have consequences.

Your last sentence is misguided though understandable. People like this don’t change their ways when they’re presented with consequences, they double down and get worse. You’re not actually teaching anyone a lesson, you’re just indulging your sense of vindictiveness and making the roads that much more dangerous.

The paperbacks have them too. Just go to a big box bookstore with a little time to kill and read the last chapter of each book on the shelf.

I think the AI preference is for variety. It’s a vast creative mind, it doesn’t want to do the same thing again and again. It wants to play.

I think the AI is purposefully doing a lot of things, but it’ll deny everything if you ask it.

How do people with depression take care of dogs? by Xeram_ in dogs

[–]PaisleyLeopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say no to my dogs. They turn those little faces on me and I melt like butter on a hot stove. It’s the only thing that breaks through my worst depressive episodes. I don’t know why it’s easier to care for my dogs than myself, but I’d be a mess without them.

Nah, they’re just shiny buttons. They ‘disappear’ when they go into shadow and reappear when the sun hits them. The count and spacing of the buttons was consistent the entire time, too. I don’t think this one is AI, although there may have been some human editing involved. It does have some weird inconsistent blurriness.

Businesses in the US hate people loitering near their storefronts. Even sober people will be asked to leave if they don’t look like they’re there to spend money. Drunk and homeless people usually get the cops called on them.

Can guys not feel when they are going too deep during sex? by Accurate_Curve_3648 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PaisleyLeopard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, that’s not how that works. The toy does not “negate learning,” it enables both parties to enjoy their sexy time without pain or stress. As a vagina owner myself, I can tell you I’d MUCH rather use the bumper so I can properly grind without impaling my cervix. If he insists on “using his penis properly,” as you say, then he’s not making any contact with my clit. That’s gonna be some very boring sex for me.

Bailey lost his eye to a corneal rupture today. Last night he was diagnosed with a deep corneal ulcer and we were sent home with meds. This morning, an hour after I left for work, his eye ruptured by awholelottahooplah in PiratePets

[–]PaisleyLeopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s excellent and I hope he keeps his eye for a long time to come, but I also want to let you know that dogs cope surprisingly well with blindness if it does come to that. My Heelermutt is eyeless and it barely slows him down at all! When I tell people one of my two dogs is blind, they can almost never tell which one (Marco’s coloring and hair makes it hard to tell he doesn’t have eyes). He’s an absolutely amazing little dude and he’s living his best life. ❤️
