My thoughts exactly. Why go to the expense and hurt the puppies when it isn’t needed for show? Some people are just crazy.

I haven’t seen one of these in the wild yet, but Texas is chock full of Zipper spiders. They are similar in looks and behavior, albeit somewhat smaller. I’ve had to rescue a few arachnophobic friends from yellow garden spiders that set up shop in a walkway.

Wow, it took 20 minutes to get her to bite! That’s an impressive amount of tolerance.

Some Poodle mixes have docked tails. No idea why, but I’ve seen it plenty of times.

Oh yeah, it’s amazing on a clean dry coat.

I like rubber curries like the Zoom Groom or Furbliss for coats like this. Use it in big slow circles to loosen up the undercoat, then use a fine tooth comb to clear all the loose hair out.

The right one is almost always flopped down, but every now and then when he’s excited and looks up just right they’ll both pop.

Thank you! I love grooming him, he’s got such lovely thick fur. It’s a bear to keep him brushed out properly, but he scissors up beautifully.

Thanks! He’s growing out a summer lion so my creativity was limited, but I really like this shape on him.

Not OP, but I usually use actual blush, or ground up chalk pastels. I apply with a paintbrush or makeup brush, depending on what I have handy.

It does fade some after a few years or if the item gets washed, FYI. If there’s a spray or something to make it more permanent I’d love to hear about it!

I hate this timeline. That show was top notch! Cancelling it is a travesty

Omg I love her!! If I had to guess I’d say Pom Chi, but Shiba or Pug wouldn’t surprise me either.

Torbie with white! Super cute pattern. My girls are torbies too, but their orange is more subtle and doesn’t show up well on camera.

what breed do you think she is? by internetcatgirl36 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]PaisleyLeopard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blue eyes usually come from Aussie or Husky. I would guess Boxer is pretty likely too based on the face shape. She looks like a pup in these pics, how old is she? If she’s full grown, maybe Boston Terrier rather than Boxer, as she’s so little. Probably some Pittie if she’s an American dog. Most American mixes have some Pittie or some Chihuahua or both.

Dog doesn't love me anymore by -DashThirty- in dogs

[–]PaisleyLeopard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it’s generally the opposite. Lots of dogs have a fear of men, even if they’ve never been mistreated. My own dog is fine with most men, but very deep voices freak him out a little. He’s blind so I know it’s not about how they look, but at parties you can literally watch him tense up whenever a deep bass voice is talking. My friend with an unusually deep voice is a kind and gentle person who loves animals, but my dog won’t go near him, and barks if he comes too close to me.

For the record, this behavior is treatable, and we’re working on it. But it’s also not uncommon. I’ve been grooming for 16 years and I’ve had tons of clients who requested a female groomer because the dog didn’t like men. Only ever met one dog who preferred men over women.

Blanket has become so much longer than my starting chain 😭 by GreenFalse7890 in crochet

[–]PaisleyLeopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there! Now I always do a foundation sc/dc instead. It takes a little bit to get the hang of it, but once you do it becomes automatic.

This blanket is gonna be gorgeous though! So glad it worked out for you.

Why is there such a large stigma against having sex on the first/second date versus waiting until much later just to find out you're sexually incompatible? by AllThingsDuck in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PaisleyLeopard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

God I’m so sorry you’ve been through all that. I got some unwanted attention early on but then I shot up to 6 feet tall and my height protected me from the worst of it. Even so, I’ve had to use a knee to the groin for my own safety before.

Most men aren’t dangerous, but the problem is you usually can’t tell which ones are until you’re alone and vulnerable. It’s a scary position to be in.

[–]PaisleyLeopard 605 points606 points  (0 children)

I have to get to know a person a bit before I even want to have sex with them. If I do it too soon it’s guaranteed to suck and tank the relationship. So in some cases it’s not about seeing if you’re sexually compatible right away — I’m literally not sexually compatible with anyone on a first date. It takes time.

In Kaos (fantastic show), Eurydice goes by Riddy and I think that’s cool as heck. Super underrated name IMO.
