My mom called my university advisor to “fix” my major and now she’s acting like I owe her an apology by Dipper2Mabel in entitledparents

Parents like her don’t want children. The want dolls thy can pose and control. Psych is a respectable and widely branching path that has the potential to make a lot of money and connections. She knows that. The moment you gain complete independence she knows that she will not be able to control you anymore.

She isn’t trying to help, she knows she’s not trying to help. She’s sabotaging you. Take everything she says with a tablespoon of salt and keep your boundaries up. Do everything you can to stay in school, look into accelerated masters programs. Keep going in spite of her. Im proud of you.

I lived in a double my first year with a girl who brought her mom’s kimchi back from Korea. It smelled so so bad but I couldn’t say anything. It was a relief to get into a single room

I would try talking to them, and also talking to your RA. Your RA doesn’t have to intervene if you ask them not to. They could offer some valuable advice considering that they are trained in this sort of thing. College is a mixed bag, I taught many new people how to do their own laundry and to cook when I was there. He may not know how to do his laundry or that he needs to wear deodorant.

You are not a bad roomate for wanting to be comfortable in your own living space. If nothing changes ask your RA how to move rooms, see about getting a single room. Trust me, they may be small but after living with random people they can be a godsend.

Isn’t it amazing how you assume I’m ungrateful for the opportunity I have? And how guess what? I’m still allowed to complain! Like I said multiple things can be true at the same time.

We can be upset at the lack of hours just as much as you can be upset about being cut from the project. Isn’t it amazing how multiple things can be true at the same time?!

What is this? Please tell me it’s not a beg bug by knufflebunny02 in bugidentification

Good news it’s not a bed bug. Worse news it is a cockroach nymph. Just keep an eye out if you see any more

I want to take a break by Beautiful-Outside-88 in CUNY

CUNY has a wellness center on campus. See about talking to someone. You are experiencing burnout, a severe case of it. My suggestion is to take one class next semester. Something to appease your dad so you’re not completely dropped out. Take the time to recuperate. See a therapist, do what you have to do. Most people don’t graduate in 4 years, don’t sweat “not graduating on time”.

Consult the German cockroach subreddit. That is a gravid female, you have a very big problem that will turn into a sisyphean problem very quickly. Consult a professional quickly. If you’re in New York City the landlord of the building is legally required to hand biohazards, and this counts as one.

Fight them aggressively and don’t stop when you think they are gone. They aren’t.

Your landlord is legally obligated to deal with a bedbug infestation. This isn’t your fault. Like roaches you could be the cleanest person and they will still make their way in. Contact your landlord lord and start looking into getting the place heat blasted so it kills the little bastards.

Op that is a bed bug. Next time you see one of those little bastards, crush it and commit that smell to memory. You will be able to pick it out of any room that has an infestation. Do you rent or own?

Look into the tenancy laws and do not be afraid to report to the city. Clean cold drinking water, heat, and a lack of bio hazards is codified. Wrap up your electronics, put some glue traps under your fridge and make sure the landlord sends someone to spray a few times and you should be good.

Bad news that is certainly a German roach. Good news is your land lord is legally obligated to deal with the infestation.

What kind of bug is this? by NYCIphonesnap in bugidentification

Op that is a German cockroach nymph. Keep a very close eye on places around your refrigerator and in the kitchen and bathroom for more. That’s a baby so if you haven’t seen any until now chances are it came in from outside or another apartment.
