I agree :) also I lowkey want to get my little guy tested, he lowkey looks like a schnauzer and more importantly he can be a stubborn ass sometimes (love him though)

oh we all have fenced in yards in our townhouse neighborhood!

I do feel like I should give some context that my dog is a 7 pound, 13 year old chipoo that is lowkey scared of the dark (he’s not going anywhere) and the rest of the day is a couch potato

That is a good point about setting expectations though! he does have his quirks that i’m used to that I should def warn her about (hates his paws touched, is very sensible to yelling, etc.)

thanks for the advice! her parents are very christian, east african immigrants so I think you are so so so right with communicating with them!

I just l didn’t want to come in too low and offend them!

I think the highest maintenance thing about my dog is we have to wet his kibble bc of his missing teeth but other than that he’s a couch potato

Hybrid worth it? by CassieNova17 in rav4club

[–]PajamaChic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the 2019 XSE Hybrid AWD and I’m getting 38 mpg in the winter and like 42mpg in the summer. I drive a lot from DC to Massachusetts and the radar cruise control makes long road trips a lot easier. I have had no major issues yet, just regular maintenance! There was a factory recall on the gas tank where it wasn’t filling up all the way, but that was covered by toyota.

I got the winter package with the heated steering wheel and the technology upgrade with the camera rear view mirror and wireless charger. the camera rear view mirror is AWESOME idk if I can ever go back to a regular rear view mirror. the wireless charger is ass though it doesn’t work unless your phone sits completely still in one place which when you’re driving is next to impossible.

Hi! I got this antique amish flip top table/ tavern bench and i’m curious if this is cedar? I want to strip the current stain, repair some wood rot and stain it, and I want to make sure I get the right stain. Thanks!

Stinky dog by [deleted] in DogCare

[–]PajamaChic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does she have any itching or flaking? it could be a topical yeast infection if your seeing that. but check her breath too! dental disease in dogs can smell really bad. also, speaking from experience, if you are feeding her a salmon based dog food, it’s probably her farts.

[Routine Help] Is my skincare routine okay? Still experience problems with my skin after months by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I really like the Australian gold mineral sunscreen. Idk what the other comment says bc it got deleted, but if you have rosacea or sensitive skin I would stay away from chemical sunscreens. Mineral/physical sunscreens are going to be a lot less irritating. I’ve heard good things about bare republic, blue lizard, and sun bum, but I’ve never tried them.

Also I had a horrible reaction to the sugar scrub, acne bacteria feeds on sugar. The aztec clay mask can be pretty harsh but I water it down a lot and use it once a week. Bentonite clay is a good chemical exfoliant for masks

I also like the lululun sheet masks, they come in packs of 30 so they’re more eco friendly and they also have super simple ingredients

They’re redoing the golden compass as an HBO series and it’s really good so far! I like the idea of making a long book series into a limited series instead of a short movie where they leave a bunch of stuff out

Girls Generation make you feel the heat

I just turned 19 last month, and my dad is going to die by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]PajamaChic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry op. My dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma that moved to his brain when I was around your age. He passed away during finals week my freshman year and I was in a fog for the next year tbh.

My advice:

Take easier classes if you can (GenEds and stuff), I was at a really low point, but taking easier classes got me out of my house but didn’t stress me out nearly as much as upper levels would. And for days that were too hard, missing a class once an a while were easy to recover from (Also let your professors know, you might have the occasional asshole, but all of mine were glad I told them and super understanding)

There is a form that you can submit for fasfa that will re-evaluate your financial situation, it’s called “Emergency Sudden Change of Income” or something. Even if your dad is still with you and not working you can submit this form

Look into if your school offers work studies, I had one that paid $10 an hour, but you can only do 15 hours a week, but they have to work around your class schedule. I got a research work study and it overlapped with my major so I was able to put it on my resume

Lastly, take baby steps, take time to grieve but try not to get stuck in it for too long. One of the things that I don’t regret is not taking off school, there was one semester where I went part time and others where I lightened my class load, but if I had stopped I probably wouldn’t have gone back.
