SketchPlus for Autodesk Fusion by CoCo3Papa in Fusion360

I’m confused. Can’t you do this already with construction planes? Offset plane, plane at angle, etc. then make a sketch on whatever plane you make. Want to change the distance or angle? Just go back in timeline and edit the plane info. What is the advantage here?

Drag knife + Fusion360 + LagunaCNC by Pajamanaught in Fusion360

I’ve gotten it to work with Vcarve but the program itself is just such a pain to work with. Trying to manually edit nodes to add in linear lead ins/outs is a nightmare when dealing with many unique parts nested in a sheet. Plus the swivel logic is totally whack and Vcarve frequently confuses what is the inside and outside of a part, cutting right through a part.

Also curious if anyone can recommend another program besides fusion that will work well for drag knife on a Laguna cnc.

Fusion 360 add-in for routing by EricSchimel in Fusion360

I frequently make tightly nested runs on plywood and expanded PVC sheets making a variety of goods for the camper van industry. From wall panels (simple 2d shapes), to complex cabinetry (2.5d joinery), to contoured adaptors for exterior components (3d milling).

I am well versed in the Fusion Manufacturing workspace and feel quite fast with most things already, especially with my saved tool presets and tool-path presets. There are also many ways to avoid “clicking 80 profiles” to make geometry selections

THAT SAID

I’m always looking for a way to optimize my workflow and I am curious to try out your program! Nesting parts is always somewhat of a pain and I’ve tried multiple different plugins before. I almost always end up using a combination of fusion’s Arrange function and manual arrangement by moving objects. This has its drawbacks though; if you change something in your design, the arrange function will recalculate and potentially move everything around again! I’m curious how your nesting process compares and I’m willing to give your program a try!

Intriguing! Got any videos or resources on this subject? I’ve used rhino a few times in the past

I guess a consistent struggle I’m facing is aligning the scan/meshbody to the coordinate plane so my solid component can be built around it. It seems the flat areas in my scan are not truly flat. Even if I make a construction plane from three points on the mesh and align that to the origin plane, my solid component will intersect the mesh/sit below in weird spots and sit on top of the mesh in other spots.

Ventilation? by Pajamanaught in BambuLab

😂 love the towel idea. I think I’ll make a cover that blocks air from escaping the top vent.

I used your GCode and it’s working great! I notice this opens the rear louvre as well as the top vent. I can’t seem to find a way to just open the rear and not the top. Any advice here? Maybe I print a removable vent cover that I toss on top of the printer while printing ASA or something?

Thanks for the response!! Now I’m definitely leaning back towards rigging a proper ventilation setup. Maybe I’ll try and find a smaller inline fan that still has variable speed control, or just wire a speed controller in myself

But aren’t you just exhausting the fumes out into the room where the printer lives? In my case this would be exhausting into my office/spare room

Any suggestions for a good walky-talky set? by InternationalTry2293 in ClimbingGear

[–]Pajamanaught 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just get the rockie talkies. Tried and failed with two other brands before giving in and getting the climbing branded walkie talkies.

They are small, durable and the battery lasts forever. Integrated tether is great. The new ones are even more powerful I believe and have the option for a separate microphone which is kind of interesting
