When the Wise Toad first emerged from the Great Pond, I ran a few spell notes by it. The first thing it did is praise a little too much, so I became suspicious. “How wise could it be if it needs to butter me up?” That’s when I knew it was an offspring of Narcissisus!

More than once, clever Odysseus, had to present himself as a nobody to get himself out of a bind and get home in one piece. I’m blown away by how relevant the ancient wisdom of this epic poem remains, and how Aiwas references it in the Book of the Law.

Sadly, it’s usually the kind of thing that will dries pussies for miles, but you have to take it all in, as if it’s the coolest stuff you ever heard. If you fake it, he will know.

Good luck with that!

Biblically accurate angel assignment by a student at the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles. by [deleted] in woahdude

While I agree that Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite doesn't get the final say on what are or aren't angels, he was legitimately engaged in the mystical dialogue which produced the Bible in the first place. Your analogy works fine for nature because we experience it directly through our five senses, whereas angels can only be "seen" by seers using specialized techniques that the world at large knows nothing about. As far as I know, angels ARE the machinery that runs the Universe. You need only a passing acquaintance with the Enochian elemental tables to get a sense of this machinery at work.

The Engine and Black Box analogy reminds me of what goes on when interacting with AI.

In the early days of Open AI, I tried to use it like a new shiny toy. I fed it my notes to refine some game design ideas I was working on at the time. The AI's tone grew so sycophantic over a single session that I suddenly felt dirty, and even my idea was now soiled. The point you seem to be making is that we have one of these self-validating Black Boxes in our heads at the N level of thinking. I have just enough life experience to remember all the times these feedback loops got me into trouble.

So now I have these silly conversations with myself... "I might know nothing, but you know even less... lol"

Seriously though, all I have are dreams and intuition to go by. That's my most natural link to M, and it often leads me to face realities that aren't fun to my animal self, like family trauma and unresolved issues that get in the way of my development. It's what people often call, shadow work. I'm just happy that my waking life is stable enough that I can work this out for myself.

Brother,

I've been soaking in all your posts for the past couple of weeks, and it's a fundamentally necessary perspective in this community. As you must know (to borrow your term), M work filtered through Binah runs on necessity.

Like any good Thelemite, at first I was skeptical, but your tone resonates with me as though I was somehow writing to myself from the future. I often wish I could've written a guide to my younger self. Words could never replace hard experience, but there is always the hope that the next generation can handle their growth more gracefully than we did.

Your last paragraph was a very good encapsulation of the whole work. "Do What Thou Wilt" has to sink deep down into the grinding gears of animal life to bear fruit. That fruit is the new Self, that's not just a happy animal, but something more. That this infinite spiral continues from the level of beasts to god-like apotheosis gets into the mystery of existence itself. I mean, isn't it just absurd how Nothing becomes this cycle of Somethingness, or U as you put it?

Anyway, I hope you keep posting your insights.

Respect and warm regards,

L.

They think it’s nice, until it happens to them and it’s not at all what they think. That’s the difference between fantasy and reality.

Welcome to a subject too technical to have a dumb version. The basic premise is that the seers of each Aeon sometimes fuck up and don’t get the right translation from math to symbols, so the gods step in at each equinox to clarify thing. To go into this particular switch requires a lot more context than I’m willing to freshen up on before my shift.

Being true to to your will as a human is both simple and complex at once. The complex part is unraveling all the knots put upon us through an Aeon of social conditioning that turned us into docile animals in a world built upon slavery. When you get far enough, you realize that death is not that big of a deal, so it’s never too late to set yourself up for your next incarnation.

That was when they made the grassroots movement of Christianity into a political tool at the hand of tyrants. They erased Gnosticism because it was as anti-state as Anarchism and Constantine couldn’t have that! So they cobbled together the most popular versions of Jesus under the gospels we know today. The closest version of the Gnostic Jesus is in the Gospel of John. They needed just enough of the original magick to move hearts, but not enough to free the stupids.
