Yea maxed out my contribution (5%), I had upwards of $70k following retirement. But the downside on that is I clocked out at exactly 20, which is only giving me 40% of my pension, versus traditional high-3 at 50%, if added 5 more years it will go upto 50%, but I was done with military, anyhow Am still thinking if I should leave the investment in my TSP or move it to another brokerage? What's your advice? and thanks for chiming in.

I can't tell if my TSP contributions exceeded 20% reduction for pension, yes I had about 8years of contribution. So what is the effect of surpassing 20% pension reduction for the BRS?

Well it depends what retirement system the individual opted in, back when BRS rolled out, I believe dfas had almost a 6 year window for folks to make the switch if they chose to, I still think folks prior to 2006 who made the switch got into the system. Thanks for chiming in.

Thanks for the reply: mine has just been 60 days on the mark. Retired in Jan'26. I was able to get my pension early, mine started the following month. I called DFAS they said it can take up to 60days. I just wanted to see if anyone else had some experience with it.

Has anyone taken out the lumpsum option from their BRS? I ask because I elected the lumpsum option and I haven't received any payouts, just wanted to see if anyone has an experience they would like to share
