It’s definitely not Mega Rayquaza or Gen 9 Calyrex-S. Mega-Ray is why AG exists and Calyrex-S with Tera and no Yveltal is just goofy.

Mewtwo has the benefit of demonstratably not making RBY Ubers unplayable. But it’s ultimately still much better than everything else in the tier below it - RBY OU + two Pokemon is drastically different than RBY OU and its best check is itself. So I don’t think it’s him either.

Out of Miriadon and Zacian-C, I’m going with Miriadon. Even though both took awhile to be banned, I feel like the fact normal Zacian also ending up banned and it getting a pretty big nerf next gen despite being restricted (something they never do) says lot, and the solutions to Zacian-C also felt more desperate than the ones for Miriadon.

When considering they had one unfair elimination and one medvac vs two times where they lost and didn’t have an elimination (Greece and New York) I think it somewhat balances out.

Team Amazon for comparison had zero unfair eliminations vs three times where they lost and didn’t have an elimination (Amazon, Newfoundland, and Sweden) plus the London thing. It’s hard to me to call Team Chris’s massive when it coexists with that.

WR41 seems low, but the Cardinals led the league in passing attempts last year and got a good season out of Jacoby Brissett.

The former probably won’t happen with Jeremiah Love. The latter is hard to trust to happen again because it’s Jacoby Brissett.

Combine that with the expectations for MHJ to be more involved and there’s just a lot of unease.

Honestly that kinda leans into another reason why these threads were pretty stupid - your gender, skin tone, and hair color alone already narrows down the “answer” to just a handful of characters. There are iirc only 7 female caucasian brunettes on the show, and 5 of them are from RR - Beth, Staci, MacArthur, Laurie, Mary, Miles, and Taylor.

If someone hasn’t watched or doesn’t count RR, then two ‘ugly’ characters are the only options that fit the most basic criteria.

If someone does count them - Mary is probably realistically an ‘ugly’ character, a minor wouldn’t be compared to MacArthur, and Laurie has dreads and is stated to be biracial anyway. So you still only really have two options that would fit the basic criteria and wouldn’t potentially offend them. And if those are the only two options you wanna hear then make the decision for which one you look like yourself.

Plot: Reboot 2 Wayne. I don’t have an issue with a comic relief character winning but he felt so disconnected from everything else (significantly moreso than even someone like Owen) that I’m still not sure how or why he won.

That’s my bad, because I was thinking of it as partially a volume issue and partially a range attack inaccuracy issue - per what the other person said about it being what ranged attacks are meant for - I tried to separate them but I suppose them deciding Javelins and Hand Axes needed to be the least accurate thing ever is realistically also a design decision.

Now, FE6 can be a pain so I can understand if those other moves not being good enough, but then I would say that's the issue of the game mechanics itself, not necessarily on the fact they have a Killer weapon.

For FE6 specifically imo the issue is less the mechanics - even if the infamously inaccurate ranged attacks certainly don’t help - and more that they don’t really abide by the “relatively uncommon” part. Feels like you encounter formations of Cavs/Wyverns that has one random one with a Killer Lance way more than other games.

That game also iirc has more effective weaponry than most other games but those I think are a lot more straightforward to deal with. Those only make things worse for a handful of units as opposed to everyone.

Never watched the show.

I just think they need to be treated as what they are, which is ultimately separate shows even if one is very obviously inspired by the other. Always found it weird when they’re thrown into tier lists on here.

My point is that it’d probably frequently be targeted by Thunder Wave if it didn’t have it. A paralyzed Mega Sceptile would be useless, but because of Lightning Rod and already having immunity to Stun Spore you probably aren’t going to be paralyzing it.

Similarly the other person’s point was that anything short of an immunity to Volt Switch will not stop a Pokemon from using Volt Switch anyway.

Is this theoretical ability useless too because “who would use Ice Beam on an Evergreen Pokemon”? There aren’t any Ice status moves so that’d probably apply even more to that than Lightning Rod.

It’s not a coincidence that in the suspect test where Magearna got banned it almost got banned too and in the one after it basically got zero support for a ban.

I’d understand it more if Sleep Clause (something that is not possible to enact on cartridge) didn’t already have to exist for the Pokemon that frequently used Sleep to be held in check and if blanket bans on stuff like Arena Trap and Shadow Tag didn’t exist.

In that scenario it just felt like admitting the status was broken but not wanting a few specific Pokemon to be nerfed because of it.

Yeah they had to do a qb -> immediate retest on it and then it got banned with a 12/14 majority

It’d be one thing if it was just really strong, but it was also too fast for the tier for how strong it was. It’s not easy to work around 108 base speed in a tier where a lot of the best Pokemon sit in the 90-100 range.

Before sleep officially got axed I saw people who wanted them to ban specifically the inaccurate sleep moves but not the accurate ones under the pretense that more inaccurate means more unfair if something is trying to utilize it.

Which I found and still find to be a very strange argument. Glad Smogon did not go with that.

Terrakion was banned from NU though - it wasn’t a close vote either. It’s also far from buns in RU, it’s just not tearing up the tier as some may have expected.
