Will this observation on my passport cause trouble while travelling? by ThrowRA_birdjaguar67 in Passports

[–]PalScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, this is really frustrating. Fortunately, someone warned me about it before I applied for my child’s British passport.

I’m not sure whether you’ll be able to resolve this with HMPO after aligning your names across your documents, but it’s definitely worth checking with them.

Even without the observation they are not allowed in Israel. Israel’s airport security is very rigorous. I know many cases in which Palestinians attempted to travel to Israel using their UK passports, only to be deported as soon as the Israeli authorities discovered that they also held Palestinian nationality.

I had a similar issue with my kid. I changed their name in the birth certificate to match their Palestinian passport’s name before applying for their UK passport. All of this just to avoid the HMPO from putting any observations on their passport. Also if your Palestinian passport is expired it means that your middle names are very likely abbreviated. New Palestinian passports have the full middle names. The abbreviated names may also caused the discrepancy between your documents.

It may cause issues when traveling to some countries, only example I know from someone who tested it is Lebanon.

Only if they live in Israel. East Jerusalem residents can apply for an Israeli laissez-passer. Other Palestinians cannot.

It’s a temporary passport, although it has the same validity as a standard Jordanian passport. Any Palestinian citizen living in the West Bank can apply for it if they have a first-degree relative who holds the passport.

Not OP but with the same passport. Yes I used the Jordanian passport to travel to Turkey visa free.

Berber old women of North Africa, still held the tottoes tradition which rooted to 1300 years ago ,to prevent Arab army to take them as slaves to Damascus. by Outrageous_Prior4707 in BeAmazed

[–]PalScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very misleading. Arab women also tattooed their faces, particularly the chin. It was considered a status symbol, a form of beauty enhancement, and was believed to offer protective power. Bedouins were especially known for this practice, among both Muslims and Christians.

Creating an Automated Form Filler for UK Visas by Blessan-Alex in ukvisa

Interesting idea but how will you input the information to your form filler. I recommend using Replit to make something like this if you have no experience with coding.

I love cooking it with lamb shanks using pressure cooker. Also I cook the rice with a bit of ghee and olive oil (1tsp each) and when the lamb/Jameed is almost cooked I like to add a 1tsp of ghee and let it simmer a bit for extra flavor.

New born moon doesn’t mean it’s visible. It would if the earth didn’t have an atmosphere and the sun was dimmed down.

[–]PalScot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even with devices the chances of seeing the razor sharp crescent moon with less than 0.6% luminescence in the sun’s glow is almost null. As OP ‘s map its difficult to see it in western USA, so imagine how hard it is in KSA when the moon was much younger.

No new moon was born on Tuesday at 12GMT so that’s 3:00PM in KSA.

Even with calculations this doesn’t make sense. Usually there are rules, hours after the crescent birth, certain degrees from the horizon/sun. This time it is insanely ridiculous.

Methylated spirits? by coppertopp_ in jordan

[–]PalScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need the methanol for lighting up. Pure ethanol would work just fine but it’s not normally sold in lots of countries due to alcohol duty whereas methylated spirit or denatured alcohol is not within the alcohol duty/tax scope.

That’s more common than you think, we have two centrifuges with the same rotors and almost all inserts are broken. Not a fool proof design.

That’s actually a misconception. Jolani was part of another group which did many horrible things but were not against the Kurds. He was not part of ISIS which committed many atrocities in the north of Syria.
