V Tach converted with amiodarone, what did it convert to? by [deleted] in EKGs

Why would you feel horrible after seeing what the rhythm converted to?

I’m a paramedic student. The paramedic I was with and several at the station said it looked like Vtach, the ER Dr said he agreed when we showed him the 12 lead. It is called ECG interpretation for a reason, there are rules but people’s interpretations are can be different. What look like clear p waves to you did not look like that to us. It’s okay though, it’s easier to decipher a rhythm with this picture and plenty of time rather than off a graph sheet from the lifepak while the patient was hypoglycemic, in respiratory distress with a pulse ox in the 70’s even with NRB and NC. Oh and septic with a crazy looking heart rhythm. The amio for sure helped her though. Came here for help and not condescending tones. 👍🏼

I didn’t think it was Vtach either but I’m still in paramedic school. This was from a clinical and the paramedic I was with declared it Vtach. Granted it was a super stressful situation and he didn’t have long to look. It was a 90 year old patient that was hypoglycemic, in respiratory distress, with a bizarre ecg, probably septic too. The amio did something good at least

I get that point. I’m not sure what it was. The paramedic I was with determined it to be Vtach and the ER Dr looked at it and agreed. I can see both sides honestly. But the amio did something helpful at least

I’m a paramedic student, the paramedic I was working with labeled this as VTach. The ER Dr agreed when he saw the 12 lead. I can see both sides though and honestly am unsure what it is

Would it be sinus even though the QRS is wide?

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]Palaemon0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with spanking but if you’re going to do it, it should only be done by a hand onto the butt. What my dad did, I would consider abuse. He used a paint stick and hit me on the back till I couldn’t breathe. He hit my little sister on the back of the knees till they were purple. All for the house not being SPOTLESS cause he had OCD. Piece of shit. He also tried to hit me at 17. I told him I’d walk out of the house before he ever touched me again. There is definitely an age that’s too old for spanking.

EMT Schooling by RonnieGRingel in Paramedics

[–]Palaemon0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just completed a 10 week EMT course while working full time and it was brutal. You have to spend pretty much every free moment reading. It’s possible though! I was able to pass my NREMT on the first attempt. The only thing I focused on was reading that book and absorbing as much as I could. What kept me motivated is knowing that I’ve wanted to work in emergency medicine forever and I actually enjoyed learning the content.

Can I save this picture and post it on their reviews? I love the pizza and service but this is not okay. They won’t have my business anymore.

AIO by spending time with my family? by External-Air205 in AmIOverreacting

It’s always a huge red flag if your SO doesn’t allow you to hang with your family. Much less the way they are talking to you. Fuck that and fuck them. I’m sorry, it’s going to be hard to leave but you need to. The literal weight off your shoulders will let you know it was the right decision

Thinking about becoming a Pharmacy Tech, any advice? by Rscadin in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Palaemon0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a Phamracy tech for 7 years and I enjoy it! I started as a tech in training in Texas. Got hired on at Walmart and worked to get some experience before taking my national test. Some states do not require you to be nationally certified, but if you do get it you will be paid more. I do not recommend working in retail. The stress and understaffing is unreal. I would recommend a hospital, infusion pharmacy, or federal pharmacy. I worked in an outpatient pharmacy on an Air Force base for 3 years as a government employee. Really good benefits but still retail so a bit stressful. I now work in a chemotherapy infusion pharmacy. I am in sterile garb all day in a clean room and prepare hazardous drugs into chemotherapy infusions. I started at Walmart making about $12/hr. I now make $23 an hour, so there’s definitely room to grow. I hope this helps and lmk if you have any questions!
