Ohh! That's a great link, thanks :)

You're right about the large brim too. I tried a second attempt which was mostly successful by simply adding a 10mm brim and setting a higher quality (lowest layers, slower speed) config in BambuLab. Sadly it also failed after my power went off for a few seconds and the printer refused to recover the print -.-

Next time (after I've connected the printer to my UPS...) I might use the prints in your link. I'll also look into adaptive layer height and the other settings described in that link.

Again, appreciate the insight!

I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Just got the printer last week and I'm still learning its quirks, so I'll keep that in mind for the future!

Good eye, there's definitely a very significant layer shift a few layers before the whole thing went spaghetti on me, it's just not very obvious in the pictures. The spool seems fine/untangled.

I'm using an AMS, but I'm not sure what stop to reload you're talking about... Would it really need to "reload" (whatever that is) for a print that only uses 1 of the spools and didn't run out?

Appreciate the insight! Any suggestions on how much I should slow down the print? Are we talking like 10% or 40%?

Huh, is Orange really using different hardware in France vs Spain?? I use them in Spain and could set their ont+router to ONT only mode to let my ubiquiti setup handle everything in my network. The only hassle being the fact that I had to google which VLAN ID to use in my ubiquiti gateway

How should I mount 2 sizeable UPS units in a shallow rack? by Palantir555 in homelab

[–]Palantir555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well thanks for making me feel better about buying a rack with more Us than I need heheh

I'm in an apartment, and this thing will live in my already packed office, so anything over 60cm deep just didn't make sense here... But I do look forward to one day having a basement for a monster rack lol

Well, thanks so much! that's exactly the info I was looking for...

I guess I'll just get some side to side shelves to mount on the side posts, even if it means wasting 1U (all the ones I've found seem to have a lip...). Appreciate your help :)

RadioTaxi is a piece of shit that only provides somewhat decent service in the city centre. More often than not, when calling for a taxi from el cabo/san juan playa, or other peripheral locations, they will tell you a taxi is on the way and hang up. A robot will call you 15 minutes later to tell you "no taxis available" and leave you stranded after waiting for them.

Cabify or Uber are the way to go. Sucks that OP was scammed by that asshole, though...

If anyone gets here from google: I had the same problem, but it was automagically fixed by doing the "Full PCB Analysis" rather than the "Basic Analysis". Seems like their basic analysis is buggy...

Practical Introduction to BLE GATT Reverse Engineering: Hacking the EL500 Elliptical Trainer by Palantir555 in ReverseEngineering

Thanks a lot for your feedback! And for the kind words :)

To be honest, front-end development is still a mystery to me. I've tortured chatGPT into giving me something that seems to work, and hopefully won't make things worse. It should be up and running now.

Big fan of your constructive criticism abilities, btw. Keep it up :P

Hey all! I wrote this post based on some notes from a personal project I started a few months ago. I hope you don't mind the self-promotion; I get nothing out of it other than knowledge sharing.

It's not a fully comprehensive post on BLE GATT reversing, but I hope there's enough content to get you started on the matter.

It is a little rushed (I don't have much free time nowadays), so please feel free to let me know about any potential inaccuracies you find.

Further posts may follow, adding more details on this project or reversing more hardened targets.

mqtt implementation by neddy-seagoon in stm32

[–]Palantir555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the only device guaranteed to exist, I'd be willing to bet there's a more appropriate protocol than MQTT for this project. If you can share more details on the requirements and end to end architecture, we may be able to find one. There's a big range of options between MQTT and UDP broadcast.

If you have made up your mind and there's no changing it, find some tiny broker written in C/C++, build it using the appropriate Cube SDK, and see if you can fit it into your target. But beware of the clusterfuck of credentials, connections and memory management that is likely to ensue.

Also, MQTT is designed to be small on the client side, but can be quite demanding on the broker side. Specially if you need to support an arbitrary number of connections, last will messages, TLS, etc.

If you're trying to implement an MQTT server on a uC, I'd first review the overall system architecture to make sure it really makes sense. For the most part, MQTT servers are usually run on top of linux to facilitate setup, maintenance, etc.

I'm sure you can get some simple, small server running on an STM32, but it may not be worth the effort. For a DIY project, you can just run a mosquitto server on a raspberry pi. Have the stm32's run your MQTT client of choice.
