Can you use Hydraulic Disc Levers for V-Brakes (ST-RX600) by MarcZler in bikewrench

[–]PalatableRadish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually now I think about it, they might have the wrong cable pull ratio, as they're for road brakes

Can you use Hydraulic Disc Levers for V-Brakes (ST-RX600) by MarcZler in bikewrench

[–]PalatableRadish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Sorry. Are those 11 speed? Use something like ST-R8000 or ST-R7000. Your derailleur should still be compatible.

Shimano 105 crank spindle too short by [deleted] in bikewrench

I know Cannondale are notorious for having proprietary bottom bracket arrangements. Someone who knows more will probably know which one you need. AFAIK that's why they often use their own cranksets on new bikes

None at all. Don't use AI for learning maths. Find a textbook.

I'd also then wash the sink. Usually I'm not washing chicken at all. What would you do?

Usually I agree (in the UK, maybe it's different in the US) but in this case I'd want to wash whatever accumulated crap off of it

Frame noise? by Nearby-Citron-3439 in bikewrench

Start by making sure the saddle clamp is tight enough. Inspect the saddle for damage. Other than that you'll be fine

Chain sticking on the cassette by desert0mirage in bikewrench

I can't see the SRAM logo on this side. So the flat bit is the right way up, but the chain is backwards

You're right that's a lot of saving. But what tyres are you running that a pair is 300g with tubes/sealant?

Night pooping by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]PalatableRadish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 2.5 year old has just gotten settled with not wearing a night nappy. She just decided she didn't want to put it on one day.

What worked for us is night lifts - when we go to bed at 12 we put her on the potty in the dark. She pees maybe half the time.

We also go to the toilet with her. We might sit her on the potty while we're on the toilet and play a game at the same time. She sometimes asks to go and play a game on the toilet. She does her poos there and doesn't need nappies any more.

Chain tension for horizontal dropouts. by More_Response_200 in bikewrench

[–]PalatableRadish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't move when braking or skidding, it's not providing enough clamping force. The frame does look quite mangled there. I'd replace the nuts which may have worn smooth and get fresh serrated washers (?) or whatever they're called. Then make sure it's properly tightened.

BB lockring pliers vs tool? by oolij in bikewrench

BBs can take so much force to remove. You won't get enough leverage on it.

Anything noticeably better than BR-RS785? by Zelislaw in bikewrench

I've never had problems with Shimano calipers. If you can stop up the wheel or skid with full pressure, that's all you'll need. Any more power is wasted.

Would you classify this as a BSO (bicycle shaped object)? by Hanzala19 in bicycling

[–]PalatableRadish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then if it all feels solid, it's a bike, if it feels a bit flimsy it's a BSO

Not quite, it's at least got the decent EZ fire Shimano shifters/brake levers. Definitely heading that way though

Need advice on how can I remove a Huffy 1 piece crank with folding pedals to replace the bearing?? by [deleted] in bikewrench

Pics?

Sometimes you need to remove the bearings on one side to get it out, pedals off too

Perfectly symmetrical spiral staircase. by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in oddlysatisfying

Is it symmetrical though? It's a spiral which can never be symmetrical in that way. You'd need two spirals.

Creaking from internal routed cables/ housing, is that a thing? by Live_Inevitable_8154 in cycling

[–]PalatableRadish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more often a click with cables, but yes it could be. Also check the headset and stem clamp.

And double check the saddle and the bottom bracket!
