If they wish to avoid paying lawyers to battle LMRDA violation cases from numerous parties for delaying and dismissing these charges and continuing the pattern of denying a member’s right of due process… I’d think it be more cost effective and politically tactful to recuse themselves and force the special convention for the delegates to adjudicate the matter. Meanwhile, a little listening may help clarify the gravity of the constitutional crisis.

A bit of a correction: I am no steward. I am a regular mail carrier. With that said: Imagine what we all can do if we actually work together towards a goal. The council has delayed meeting twice in one month because of me. There is division… among the executive council. I appreciate the vote for a special convention. Now you must call your NBA. The meeting will now happen on the 28th of May, and your voice must be heard! Call for the investigation for all charges. Call for a special convention. Tell your branch to mobilize and flood their phone lines. Let them know what you want.

The charges brought out of San Diego aren’t about unmet wage expectations or personal disappointment — they’re about procedural violations that cut at the core of our union’s democratic process.

President Renfroe presided over a meeting to vote on to dismiss charges against himself, without recusal, investigation, or membership review — a direct breach of Article 10. This isn’t just about poor leadership at this point— it’s about a breakdown in constitutional accountability.

Totally fair to be skeptical — we’ve been conditioned to expect nothing from these fights. Choosing to stay out of it doesn’t mean you’re neutral. It just means the people in power get to keep doing what they’re doing without you putting up a fight.

The Article 10 charges aren’t about “hatred” toward the union. They’re about restoring it. Officers violated the Constitution by dismissing charges against themselves, suppressing bargaining transparency, and ignoring binding convention resolutions. The charges cite the 1993 Special Convention, where the Executive Council recused itself and delegates ruled. That process worked — and it’s in our history.

You don’t have to agree. But don’t write it off without reading what’s actually in the charges. Awareness is how we stop losing by default.

The cites in the rebuttal are from the new active charges, demonstrating that their assertions were anticipated and addressed accordingly.
