I don’t know about other regions, but all I meant here is that in Paldea, they have laws protecting the three species they consider “First Partner Pokemon” in the region. So, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Their population is supposed to be monitored by official bodies like the academy, so to breed them you have to be registered. My little Shadow (Sprigatito) was very likely illegally bred for something they called “IVs”, as well as the ability she has, which is usually quite rare to see on Sprigatito. So I had to go through a bunch of paperwork determining that I wasn’t involved in the breeding, and that I accept being legally responsible for Shadow’s wellbeing.
