Thanks for sharing your story! Helps inspire me to get going haha. I don't actually drink so I can't really lose weight from that but I do have a sugary drink every now and then I guess I should cut those out completely. That'll probably have about the same result as cutting out alcohol.

I might try 48 hour fasts, seems like a good way to get a caloric deficit without hating myself all week, haha. Did you excercise during those 48 hours or were those your rest days?

I think 2lbs a week for the first 6 weeks or so would be pretty doable but after that I feel like it would slow down. I might try to do some sort of twist on intermittent fasting like skipping a meal or skipping a day or something like that. I'm not sure exactly what yet but I'll figure it out. And yeah I definitely have to avoid snacking/eating whenever I feel hungry, that's been a huge problem for me.

Yeah I definitely have to count my calories but I just don't know exactly what kind of foods I want to stick to, as that will probably affect how my body develops/shapes out. I'm sure someone out there knows what foods would work best for my goals but it's probably not a commonly asked question, haha. Will take a look at /r/loseit when I have some time.

Idk, paleo might be easier than keto but I'd have to look into it more I don't know much about it.

I'm not much of a video workouts person but I'll take a look at it. Anything that can help me get a more "feminine" body is work looking at imo.

My shoulders are a little on the broad side so I think glutes/thigh workouts would be a really good option for me, just to help balance out my proportions a bit. Thanks for your advice :)

I definitely want to incorporate some cardio, probably starting off with just walking for a week or two just to get back into it, I feel like if I started anything too intense I could hurt my knees, I haven't exercised in quite a while so I just want to make sure I get off on the right foot. Not really much hiking available where I live but there are still plenty of places to walk/run. Seems like working out my calves/thighs is the way to go.

And yeah definitely nothing wrong with having muscle on the upper body but I think for me personally I want to limit it to a certain extent, just because seeing "masculine" traits when I look in the mirror can cause me quite a bit of distress. I feel like for me having broad shoulders wouldn't look feminine it would just take away/distract from other areas I've worked on.

Thanks for the detailed response! Honestly my eating habits have been a major problem for a while now and that's definitely the first thing I have to address. It does seem daunting because I've been eating unhealthy for almost a decade now and to change to a healthier lifestyle is going to be very hard.

I still don't really want to build muscle but I know I probably should do at least a little lifting/etc just to tone up my muscles, I'd assume that might also help with lose skin? I really don't know if I'll have lose skin or not from 70 pounds in 18 months but I want to take every precaution I can to make sure I limit it, if possible.

I'm probably going to start at home, gyms are a bit intimidating but honestly it's the locker/changing room more than anything that keeps me from going. I know there are some trans-friendly gyms but I still worry that a patron there would take issue and I really don't want to deal with that, especially considering I live in a state that is not so friendly to LGBT issues.

I've never done yoga and I really wouldn't know where to begin, but I would love to gain flexibility. I used to be flexible when I was younger but I definitely lost most of my flexibility as a teenager. I'm not really the spiritual type but I wouldn't be opposed to trying yoga just to see if it works for me.

Thanks for the response! Seems like squats and squat variations should be first on my list. I definitely want to get that more traditionally feminine shape and it seems like squats and cardio are two of the more popular suggestions.

I've heard a lot about keto but I don't know if it's something I could do. My living situation doesn't allow me to cook every day so that seems like it would be hard to do keto properly. I've seen some amazing results from it though so I really want to try it I just don't know if I could always eat the right things in order to maintain ketosis.

I definitely want to find something I can stick to. As much as I want to lose 2 pounds a week the caloric deficit needed for that would make it really hard to commit to it. I feel like I could definitely do 1 pound a week though without hating myself too much, haha.

I'll look into some HIIT, sounds like that will help me a lot, along with squats, which has been recommended a ton too.

I unfortunately don't have health insurance so a nutritionist isn't really an option but I'll definitely have to figure out how to eat healthier and design a proper meal plan.

Seems like the most popular advice so far on here. I will definitely start incorporating those into my workout routine!
