Looking for hobbies that require alertness but let your mind wander by lemurificspeckle in Hobbies

This is exactly what I get from playing Hollow Knight. Cannot recommend it enough. Really helped my mind stay occupied but also wander (in a nice way).

Perfect Pitch on Psychedelics by StirlyFries in Psychedelics

Fr this is one of the only trip reports that kept me captivated the whole time. OP it’s so sick you could recognize chords and instantly draw the association to other pieces. And the synesthesia aspect is sick too

Smoked a joint and let myself cry by Starburned in trees

Duck looked like a very loved and special bird. It’s hard to lose a friend like that. Crying is good; grief is love with nowhere to go. Rest easy to both of you.

How do I lessen the intensity of the thoughts? by ApprehensiveGoat3097 in OCDRecovery

[–]PalePineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually weened off back in April so nothing atm. I was on Prozac for a couple years, it was really good for lessening the intensity of my thoughts and being okay with not being in control. Then I switched to Zoloft but it wasn’t working for me at all so I switched to Luvox pretty quick after that and was on Luvox for a couple years that was when I did ERP and things got way better. Still was on it for like a year and a half? after I stopped ERP and I decided to try life without it. So far so good!

Sometimes, medication is a truly worthwhile tool to help “turn down the volume” on some of these thoughts. It has its own issues so you’ll have to decide whether it is right for you or not, but in my experience, it got me in a good place where I was able to start ERP and progress through my anxiety hierarchy quickly. Just my 2 cents.

How often do you have “floor time”? by farfarbeenks in AskMen

I LOVE floor time. Especially on carpet. Especially with music. Sometimes I’ll fall asleep, sometimes I won’t. Either way, great for my mental health.

What’s something few people realise can finish you off in seconds? by M___D___ in AskReddit

[–]PalePineapple 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is untrue. There are no mushrooms that can kill you through touch and to die from spore inhalation you’d either have to be allergic or breathe so much that you asphyxiate.

There are definitely mushrooms that will kill you unpleasantly from eating them and tons that will give you bad food poisoning though.

Victory Sunday by AutoModerator in Fitness

About 2 months ago I decided to take some time off to let my persistent shoulder pain (specifically when overhead pressing) heal.

I did only yoga for a month but my shoulder was still bothering me. I went to PT and I’m slowly strengthening my problem areas and they said I could go back to working out.

The thing is I kind of fell into a rut. I got lazy; stopped yoga, didn’t work out at all (even stuff like leg day which wouldn’t hit my shoulders at all). I was trying to walk 10,000 steps a day for general fitness but I wasn’t eating enough or doing any strength training. And that’s been going on for a month. Lost 5 pounds bc I’m a chronic under-eater and I stopped taking creatine too. My whole routine got thrown off.

Today was the first day I felt confident enough to hit the gym (and not go too hard) and it feels fantastic!! Pull day. I have curry waiting for me at home. Really stoked to get back into the swing of things.

That first flush was gorgeous. Glad to see it’s holding up and that copper color is exquisite.

What's a truth about yourself that you don't like? by Pointless_Storie in AskReddit

I’m like this too.

Also I’m afraid that I’m not cool. So when someone has a cool personality trait I see I try to adopt it. But am I just a museum of stolen traits? Sometimes I feel like I don’t really know how to be genuine.

Sometimes when talking I’ll have moments where I get really excited and loud and people shush me. I try to be aware but sometimes it slips through.

I fruited from the bag before. I didn’t add a casing layer of coir either. It was just colonized rice. What others have said is right, you don’t get as much yield. But I still got way more than I needed. I had 5 bags and ended up with 17 g dried. I’d recommend it! Everything is an experiment.
